Called out for rodent activity within a domestic property, the customer had reported gnawing on personal belongings, specifically a pair of slippers, which is suitable material for nesting. I didn't expect to arrive to a more serious problem: rats had gnawed through the water mains.
I managed to isolate the water from an external meter before assisting the customer and calling for an emergency plumber.
Rats have gnawed their way into the property up through the floor, which usually indicates an issue below ground, such as a break in the drainage system.
A trapping program has been implemented to control and monitor the situation over the next three weeks while all necessary investigation works are carried out so Crane Pest Control can eliminate the infestation and establish the root cause.
