He’s back… and we’re not convinced he’s had enough rest 😅🏍️

After 10 days on the road and an incredible 3,600km tour through Holland, Germany, Denmark, Sweden and Norway, Tony is back in the workshop today.

Safe to say he’s swapped mountain views and open roads for sawdust and deadlines!

Not sure a bike ride of that size counts as “time off” though… and with the workload waiting for him, we’ll soon find out if he’s recovered enough 👀

We're excited to share a first look at a recently completed bar project that we've had the pleasure of manufacturing and installing.

Designed by Tutti Interiors and brought to life with the installation support of Top Notch Joinery HD Ltd, this was a fantastic project to be involved with from start to finish. Working to a tight deadline to ensure everything was ready ahead of the World Cup, our team pulled together to deliver on time without compromising on quality.

For now, here's a little teaser of what's been created... but trust us, it will look even better fully finished and furnished.

Keep an eye on our page over the next few weeks when we'll be revealing the completed space in all its glory. 🍻

A nice follow-on from a job we shared back on 26th March!

After we fitted the new windows, the customer had the plastering completed, and we returned last week to install the internal window cills.

These were made using oak veneered MDF with solid oak lippings, then carefully stained to match the internal finish of the windows for a seamless, consistent look throughout the space.

It’s the finishing details that pull everything together — getting the colour, grain, and proportions right really makes a difference once the room is complete.

A tidy return to finish the job properly.

🔨 Another busy week at Alder Specialist Joinery! 👌

This week we’ve completed a supply-only staircase featuring solid oak strings and newels with sleek metal spindles… a great combination of traditional craftsmanship and modern design.

We’ve also been fitting a set of Accoya Wood external doors that we recently made for an outside storage area. Accoya is always a great choice for external joinery thanks to its durability and stability, and these turned out beautifully.

It’s been a good mix of workshop manufacturing and on-site fitting this week, and we’re looking forward to sharing more projects soon.

This weeks post is something slightly different!

Some very close friends of ours have recently had their first child, so Tony has been working in secret to make these building blocks as a welcome to the world gift and keepsake.

They are made to be educational through play, and are made from American black walnut and finished with none toxic food safe oil.

They now have pride of place in his nursery bedroom - It’s all about the personal touch, hand crafted and gifted with kindness and love.

Here’s a closer look at a piece we’ve just finished and it’s now ready to head off for polishing.

This fitted cabinet features solid Maple doors with a really nice solid brass inlay detail, paired with a textured laminate to give it a bit of contrast and character. It’s one of those pieces where all the small details really come together.

Designed by our client Tutti Interiors, it’s a great project to be part of!

📍 Join Our Team – Skilled ‘Bench Joiner’ Wanted! 🪚

At Alder Specialist Joinery, we take pride in crafting high-quality bespoke joinery, and we’re looking for a talented Bench Joiner to join our growing team. If you’re passionate about woodworking, have an eye for detail, and thrive in both workshop and on-site environments, we’d love to hear from you.

The Role:

As part of our team, you’ll be responsible for manufacturing precision joinery in our workshop, as well as fitting and installing our products on-site. You’ll work from technical drawings, operate a range of woodworking machinery and tools, and ensure every piece meets our exacting standards. Safety, craftsmanship, and teamwork are at the heart of what we do.

What You’ll Need:

• At least 5 years’ experience in joinery
• The ability to read and follow technical drawings
• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machinery
• A full clean driving licence (essential)

What We Offer:

• A full-time, permanent position (Mon to Fri, 8am – 4:30pm)
• Competitive hourly rate (£13–£16, depending on experience)
• Company pension and free parking
