Regan has been developing his skills across a wide range of services, gaining hands-on experience in areas such as electrical installations, maintenance, and supporting our wider facilities team.

We’re passionate about investing in the next generation. Our apprentices play a key role in delivering high-quality solutions across electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and renewable energy services for our clients.

This month, the team at HEC Ltd – Huddersfield Electrical Contractors have been on site installing new electrical supplies for the updated Accu Stadium signage at Huddersfield TownFootball Club

The stadium—recently renamed as part of a major local engineering partnership—remains a key landmark for both the community and sport in Huddersfield.

We worked alongside Asda and Onyx Product Services and supported by DECORIGHT CONTRACTS UK LIMITED to replace old gift card ends and revitalise these high-traffic retail displays.

Meet the Team: Oliver Briggs

We’re proud to introduce Oliver Briggs, Founder & Director of HEC Ltd.

Oliver founded HEC in 2005 with a vision to deliver high-quality electrical solutions built on reliability, professionalism, and strong client relationships. Since then, he has led the company’s growth into a trusted electrical contracting partner for commercial, retail, and industrial projects across the UK.

Despite leading the business, Oliver is still very hands-on and can often be found on site alongside the team — even jumping in on a Sunday night shift when needed.

Outside of work, Oliver is a proud family man and dad to Ella and Millie. At the weekends, you’ll often find him standing at the side of an arena supporting his daughters and holding the horse while they compete.

His leadership and work ethic continue to drive the HEC team forward.

🔥 Project Complete – VESDA Aspirating Smoke Detection Installation🔥

We’ve recently completed the installation and commissioning of three VESDA aspirating smoke detection units to protect a large open-area warehouse at Campeys of Selby LTD

Due to the scale and open nature of the building, a VESDA system was selected to deliver high-sensitivity, early smoke detection across the entire environment — something traditional point detectors can struggle to achieve in large, high-ceiling spaces.

💨 How VESDA works:

The system continuously draws air through a network of sampling pipes, allowing it to detect smoke particles at a very early stage and provide rapid warning of potential fire risks.

✅ Fully designed, installed, and commissioned in accordance with BS 5839

✅ Airflow and system integrity verified

✅ Detection performance tested across the protected area

All three units are now fully operational, helping to ensure reliable fire detection and enhanced life safety within this large warehouse environment.
