It's been a while..time to re-introduce myself :)
My name is Gija and I have been working on garden design projects for past 6 years.

Things about me:
-I love love love what I do and intend to carry on creating beautiful gardens for years to come. I work predominantly in Cambridgeshire area and offer remote design services for clients further afield.

-I'm married with no children, but you'll definitely see plenty of dog related content on my stories . We have a GSD called Zelda who we absolutely adore.

- My absolute favourite design projects to work with are small courtyard spaces as I feel we can create so much magic in a limited space.

- I'm a massive foodie and looooove to cook food, talk about food and ofcourse eat food

- I love fridays, autumn, hoodies, nature walks, a good conversation with a glass of red 🍷

Built earlier this year, this simple yet elegant garden space offers fabulous views from the house.
So when it's too hot to be outside 🥵..you can still fully appreciate your garden from a (hopefully )air-conditioned room inside your home.
Planting will establish over the next few months and look rich for years to come 🌿
We introduced plenty of evergreen structure to ensure this garden space looks fabulous any time a year 👍🏼

Another garden complete, just in time for the upcoming beautiful summer weather 🔅
Special 'Thank You' goes to for the exceptional skills and patience while working with a challenging site and complex design features.
So proud with what we have created here ❤️
We used large format porcelain from to create a sense of openness and a free-flowing space for entertainment.
Composite cladding from adds much needed textural interest to the steps and retaining walls adding another layer of detail and interest.
Beautiful multi-stem cherry trees [Prunus 'The Bride'] supplied by are framing the view from the living room and inviting you out.
I can see many beautiful summers spend here many winters spent admiring structural planting and feature lighting as the dark winter months take over.
Can't wait to revisit this project next year once the planting has established ❤️

3x things you need to create a garden of dreams :
1- a plan to follow. No freestyling!! 3D visuals are a great tool to ensure you will love your future garden before it's even built.
2- patience. Freshly built and planted garden will need more than one season to mature. Trust the process and follow the vision.
3- maintenance plan. If you're not green fingered, make sure to keep your planting scheme simple and water, water, water 💦 Under-watering is a No1 reason why plants fail in the 1st season.

Med style planting in UK?
Yes, that is absolutely doable and possible and a fabulous way to add a little bit of that holiday feeling in your garden.
But there are a few things that I would NOT recommend:

- white and light colour pebbles are often seen in Med destinations. The consistent warm weather and lack of rain makes it a great choice for adding texture or even dressing your planting beds, but be warned - white pebbles will not stay white in UK for much longer than a season. After that, they just look dirty and messy and quite frankly - ruin the aesthetic.

- exclusively draught tolerant planting will not cope well with wet UK winters so work with med plants that have adapted to our winters - gaura, erigeron, various grasses, herbs, pittosporum and olive trees to name a few will overwinter just fine in the UK.

- and finally..remember even for med style planting, watering is key, especially in the first season. It may not be obvious, but the luscious med gardens around your beautiful hotel grounds are all set up with irrigation systems that keep plants alive. Only because they thrive in hot climate, does not mean they don't need water.

Aside from flowers, chocolates and fine wine - it's really the simple things that make us feel loved :)
Roses have a reputation of romance and love, so naturally, it's one of garden designer's favourite plants to introduce in our planting schemes.
If you choose wisely, your roses will fill your garden with beautiful scent and blooms from May-October, making you feel loved ❤️
Roses are great plants to work with and look fabulous in a deep planting borders surrounded with carefully selected companion plants.
