We are completely overwhelmed by the comments, emails and phone calls we have received this week.
It has not only brought comfort to our team but to Joanne, Abbie & Darcie, John's parents Johnny & Lorna and his sisters Kaye & Janice.
The love that so many people had for John has made a very difficult week just a little bit brighter.

It’s with broken hearts, we announce the sad passing of John, aged 44 years, on Friday, August 21, 2026, at ARI, surrounded by his loving family and dedicated medical staff. Best friend and much loved husband of Joanne, devoted dad to Abbie and Darcie, beloved son of Johnny and Lorna, cherished brother of Kaye and Janice, loving son-in-law of Ian and Shona, dear brother-in-law to Gary, Linda, Neale and Alana, a special uncle to Drew, Ellie, Freya, Elsie, Eiryn and Ayda and a very good friend to many. A celebration for John’s life will be held at Strathbogie Drumblade Church, Bogie Street, Huntly, on Thursday, September 3 at 1.00pm, thereafter to Huntly Cemetery. All friends respectfully invited. Family flowers only please, but donations in lieu, in aid of The Leanne Fund, at the church door. Please wear a touch of colour in honour of John.

It is with sadness and heavy hearts that we share the passing of John on Friday 21st August 2026.

Since starting JWD 16 years ago, John has been extremely dedicated and determined to help us all and our clients, no problem was too big or too small. We will continue to do this in his honour.

The office will be closed on Monday but we will be available again from Tuesday. Please reach out to us with any concerns on your projects or if you'd like to share your memories of John.

Please bear with us as we navigate life and the business without John.

Our thoughts are with John's family and close friends, he will be sorely missed by everyone.

It was a nice sunny morning for Kit from our team to do some site visits on a few of our on-site projects. All at different stages of the build process. We’ve been a little quiet on social media lately due to being very busy getting projects to construction stage along with a volume of new work being awarded too. A busy summer ahead, just how we like it at John Wink Design. More exciting projects to share soon, along with a mix of rural house plots for sale. Keep an eye out 👀.

Well done Kit!

We are delighted to share that last month, our Kit Habiby passed his final Part 3 examination, becoming a fully qualified Architect. Kit has put in a tremendous amount of hard work, over the last 3 years gaining valuable experience over a wide range of projects and it’s great to see him progressing to the next step in his career, here at JWD.

We are all very proud of his achievement which is thoroughly deserved, and we are sure he will continue to thrive in this ever-changing industry.
