I removed an old inefficient Baxi combination boiler and fit Viessmann 050 system boiler and an unvented cylinder in its place.
Priority hot water allows for a smaller cylinder to be fitted as it starts reheating as soon as it senses a drop in temperature. It also allows the radiators to be heated at a lower temperature making the system more efficient and cheaper to run.
Both the hot water and heating use Opentherm to communicate with the boiler allowing the boiler to modulate down to avoid overheating and again making it more efficient.

New installation of a Viessmann 100 system boiler connected to an unvented cylinder with priority hot water.
This is controlled by an opentherm heating and hot water room thermostat which is also wifi enabled to control and monitor away from home .
These are the best modulating boilers on the market as you can see from the last picture.

This replaced the old Glowworm BG boiler and all the unnecessary valves and controls and should now see a nice reduction in energy usage and a more even temperature in the house.

This is a 24kw Ideal Mexico cast iron floor standing boiler that I fit in 1999. At the time of installation this system was as modern as it could be. It was piped up as a 'S' plan system with a programmable room thermostat. It has been incredibly reliable and nothing has gone wrong with the boiler or controls in all that time but as this is a high temperature non condensing boiler it is just not as efficient as a new system.
It was decided that now was the time to have an upgrade.
A Viessmann 050 19kw system boiler was fitted with a 4 pipe hot water priority system to allow a higher temperature to heat the cylinder and a lower temperature to heat the radiators which will allow it to be in condensing mode for as long as possible getting the most out of the gas instead of wasted gasses going out of the flue. Wiring up the heating and hot water on opentherm allows this to happen.
This is all controlled via a programmable room thermostat or an app. You can also use the Viessmann app to see how efficient it is running. This system now ticks over using only 10% of the boiler output which is approximately 2kw. A big difference from the previous 24kw boiler. This will now give the house a more even temperature making it more comfortable and the client will also be making savings on fuel costs.

A new low temperature heating installation for maximum efficiency to keep the gas bills to a minimum.
Running your radiators as cool as possible but warm enough to heat your house will save a considerable amount of gas.
Priority hot water allows a constant amount of hot water and also allows the heating to run at a lower temperature than normal systems keeping the house warm but with a more even temperature across the rooms.
As this is a larger property a Viessmann system boiler and Spirotech low loss header with an external pump and zoned circuits to the two floors was utilised as like with all boilers, the pumps in the boiler have insufficient power to reach the far radiators.
