Grain store manger - Larkstoke Farm, Admington, Shipston on Stour, Warwickshire CV36 4JH
Job Description
Responsible for all matters related to the intake, storage and outtake of grains at our commercial grain store and such other stores that the business may utilise.
This role includes, but is not limited to:
· Weighing grain and other materials into store
· Testing grain specifications for individual loads
· Responsibility for the TASCC registered laboratory
· Allocation of storage space
· Ensuring grains are cleaned and dried to specification.
· Monitoring of grain in store
· Ensuring stores and adjacent yard aprons are kept clean and in proper condition.
· The business uses a third part contractor for pest control, and the manager will liaise with them.
· Loading lorries
· For all aspects of the above the grain store manager is responsible for ensuring proper and accurate records are maintained.
· Responsibility for the TASCC annual audit and the storage information for Red Tractor audits.
· Liaising with farmers and merchants regarding movements and contracts.
· Working extended hours during harvest and at other times if required.
The grain stores must always be managed in a safe and efficient manner, and the grain store manager will be responsible for ensuring that operating within the stores or storage area does so in a safe and responsible manner.
The current grain storage enterprise is evolving, and the grain store manager should be prepared to put forward proposals for future expansion and development to the partners of the business.
Whilst the management of the grain store is the principal role and responsibility of the grain store manager, the manager is not limited to this role and when the opportunity arises should be prepared to seek out and take on additional roles and responsibilities within the business subject to the partner’s discretion.
