🌳 Carefully Managed, Responsibly Removed – Edinburgh Project 🌳

We recently carried out the dismantling of a mature lime tree in Edinburgh — a job that required both precision and sensitivity.

This wasn’t a straightforward removal. The tree was protected under a Tree Preservation Order, but unfortunately its root system had begun to compromise a nearby wall, causing structural damage that couldn’t be resolved without removal.

After working closely with the local council and securing the necessary permissions, we safely dismantled the tree while ensuring full compliance with regulations and best practices — with stump removal also carried out to leave the site fully cleared.

Situations like this highlight the importance of professional assessment when protected trees are involved — balancing preservation with safety is what we do best.

Last week, we removed this mid-sized Leylandii that had started to outgrow its space in a much-loved garden 🌳

It was overhanging a cherished greenhouse, blocking valuable sunlight and taking up room that could be better used. The goal was simple — open up the space and give the garden room to thrive again.

Our team carefully dismantled the tree, ensuring everything was done safely and efficiently.

The result:
More light, more usable space, and a garden ready to flourish once again. The customer chose to keep the woodchip for future garden use, and we removed all timber from site — leaving everything clean, tidy, and ready to enjoy.

We know we’ve been a bit quiet on here lately… but that’s only because the team at Caletree Tree Services have been flat out 💪🌳

Here’s a recent job we completed — a large lime tree removal in a stunning garden with zero machinery access. Every branch, every piece of timber had to be carefully rigged, lowered, and carried out by hand.

With the help of proper ground protection, we made sure the garden was left looking just as pristine as when we arrived. As a bonus, the customer now has a great stack of firewood ready for the future 🔥

Big tree, big teamwork! 🌳🚧

A few weeks ago, we had the pleasure of teaming up with the crew at Brett Bain Tree Services on a large Eucalyptus dismantle, using a crane to get the job done safely and efficiently.

It was a great example of how good planning and the right people can make even the biggest jobs run smoothly. From the ground crew to the climbers, everything was well-executed and it was a real pleasure to be involved.
