😂 It’s not just our bags of bark that are XXL!

We had a few comments about this beast yesterday, including one that made us laugh: “That’s the biggest trailer I’ve seen in my life!” 😂

There was a good reason for bringing out the big kit…

We received a last-minute request from a film production site needing more of our products — and they needed them quickly. As we couldn’t free up one of our lorries until later in the day, this XXL trailer was called into action! 💪

It was back and forth to the site all day yesterday, delivering XXL bags or decorative bark material to create pathways into certain areas which, unfortunately, we can’t tell you anything more about… 🤐🎬

And we’re back there again today with another load — although this time with a slightly smaller trailer! 😂

When a customer needs something quickly, we’ll always do our best to find a way to make it happen.

We’d love to tell you what’s being filmed, where those pathways lead and who might be walking along them… but our lips are sealed! 👀🎥

🌲 Big bags. Big trailers. Big deliveries.
🤫 Some jobs just have to remain a mystery.

🍂 Autumn is the ideal time to give your garden a little protection before winter arrives.

As temperatures begin to fall and the first frosts draw closer, now is an excellent time to spread a generous layer of bark around beds, borders and established plants.

A good mulch does far more than simply make the garden look beautifully finished. It helps insulate the soil against sudden temperature changes, offering valuable protection to roots and newly planted bulbs, while also conserving moisture and suppressing weeds.

For spring-flowering bulbs in particular, a layer of bark provides a useful protective blanket through the colder months, leaving them safely tucked beneath the soil until warmer days return. 🌷

And there is something rather satisfying about putting the garden to bed for winter with freshly mulched borders — neat, protected and ready for spring.

At Inverness Bark, our generous XXL bags make covering larger beds and borders easy, with Decorative, Ornamental, Nursery and Composted Bark available.

🍁 A little preparation now can make all the difference when the garden wakes up next spring.

😂 We always say we go the extra mile for our customers… yesterday our driver went a little further — and straight over the edge! 🌊🤣

On his way to Achiltibuie to deliver 2 of our huge XXL bags of Nursery Bark (our small-grade bark), he stopped to grab what he thought would be the perfect photo.
📸 Phone out.
🏔️ Scenery looking incredible.
👣 One step forward…

What he didn’t realise was that the ditch in front of him was almost 5ft deep! 😳
Safe to say, he knows now — having practically swum his way back out of it! 😂💦 - the last picture shows what our driver called “the hole of doom!”.

And after all that, he still had a delivery to make in Achiltibuie — over a 5-hour round trip to get our XXL bags to another Highland customer. 🚚💨

We genuinely do go the extra mile… although perhaps next time we’ll stick to the road! 😂

🔥 NOT ALL FIREWOOD IS EQUAL — AND WE’VE BEEN REMINDED OF THAT THIS WEEK! 🔥

We’ve had four calls this week alone from people asking about our firewood because they’ve been struggling to get a decent burn from logs they’ve bought elsewhere — despite being assured the wood was “dry”.

A log might have been seasoned outside for two years or even show a moisture reading of 20% or less, but that doesn’t mean all firewood will give you the same performance.

At Inverness Bark, our premium birch hardwood is professionally kiln dried under controlled conditions, producing consistently dry, high-quality firewood designed to give you an excellent, reliable burn:
🔥 More heat from every load
🪵 Longer, more consistent burning
📏 Consistent 25cm logs
✅ Ready to Burn certified

Yes, you may find firewood advertised for less. But buying cheaper logs isn’t much of a saving if you have to burn considerably more of them to heat your home.

We’ve been supplying our premium kiln-dried hardwood for over 5 years, and there’s a reason so many customers keep coming back.

Don’t just compare the price of a bag. Compare the quality of what you’re actually burning.

Prices:
🔥 Ton Bag — £195 inc VAT
🔥 Large Crate — £360 inc VAT

🚚 Delivery free within 10 miles of Inverness Airport with a charge for addresses further afield.

Buy better wood. Burn fewer logs. Get more heat. 🔥🪵
