We had a fantastic day on Saturday celebrating our 40th anniversary with another Barniefest at Wildwoodz Inverness - even the sun made an appearance for us in the afternoon!
Wildwoodz provided the perfect backdrop for us to host our festival, with lots of activities for the whole family - the laser tag was particularly popular! Also thank you to Pamela Hardwick and Linsey Macrae for their wonderful art and face painting skills, Mascot Madness for setting up activities and Alan Cruickshank for photographing the day.
Ollie’s Pops, Auld Smokey Pizza, Miele's Gelateria Inverness and Wildwoodz Inverness kept us all replenished with wonderful food, ice cream and drinks! The Barnie Mojito's went down a storm!
No festival would be complete without excellent music to see us through the day; thank you to Elephant Sessions, Scooty & the Skyhooks, rhythmnreel, The Black Isle Peas, The Craig Robertson Band and Northern Constabulary Community Pipe Band - NorCon PipeBand for helping us to dance the afternoon away! We even heard a few tunes from ourselves on the karaoke and from our very own engineers down in Antarctica!
Throughout the day we were selling raffle tickets to raise money for the Highland Hospice, and we are delighted to say we managed to raise nearly £4000 from the tickets sold, which will be topped up by GAB to bring the total donation to £8000. But our raffle would not be possible with the generous prize donations received from MacGregor Industrial Supplies, City Electrical, R Macdonald & Son, Macmillan and Company, Darach, Edmundson Electrical, Cleveland Cable Company Ltd, ADI, Rexel UK, Wolseley, BSS, AliHal Artworks & Darren Glen.
Last but by no means least, thank you very much to Eilidh, Lynne, Isla, Iain, Gavin, Bob, Wesley, James and everyone else in GAB who put in a fantastic effort to organise and assemble this event for us - everyone had a great day and can't wait for the next one!
As Alex & Gordon said G&A Barnie Group would not be where it is today without the support and dedication of everyone within GA Barnie Group; it's been a busy 40 years so far, but we look forward to seeing what the next 40 bring us!
