We fitted one of these last week and it's been getting a few "wait, where's the outside bit?" reactions, so here it is.
It's a Panasonic RAC Solo. It cools in summer and heats in winter, but the clever part is there's no big unit on the outside wall — none of that boxy thing you usually see stuck to the side of a house. All that's outside is two small round vents (second photo). That's it.
We'll be honest, we were a bit sceptical before we'd fitted one. But it does the job properly, it's quiet, and it looks a lot tidier than the usual setup. You can run it from the app too, which is handy.
It's good for the sort of room that's always too hot in summer — a bedroom you can't sleep in, a sunroom, an office that catches the afternoon sun. And if you're bothered about the vents being visible, they can be painted to match the wall.
Still fairly new up here so most folk haven't seen one. If you've got a room that's unbearable when it's warm out, drop us a message and we'll tell you straight whether it'd suit.
