As we approach the end of 2025, we would like to thank our clients, supply chain, and team for their continued support throughout the year.

2025 has been a year of steady growth for Scotbuild. Under the leadership of Managing Director Daniel Cormack, our focus has remained on maintaining high standards, supporting sustainable growth, and delivering quality projects for our clients.

Our teams have delivered works across multiple sectors throughout the year. By integrating our joinery, decoration, plumbing and electrical services – we continue to offer a consistent, full-service approach from start to finish.

We have also remained committed to supporting the communities we work with through various donations, sponsorship of Ross County and Invergordon Football Club, support for local professional golfer Sean Kennedy, and engagement with students at UHI college open days to promote careers in construction.

We’re proud to showcase a project completed earlier this year at Lairg Lodge, marking the first phase of a series of planned upgrades across the estate. The works were expertly managed and led by our Construction Manager (North), Iain Mackay.

This renovation brought together the full range of Scotbuild’s in-house expertise – joinery, electrical, plumbing, and decoration — with every trade playing a vital role in delivering an exceptional result for our client. Scotbuild has recently completed the full renovation of a two-bedroom property in Rogart – a project that highlights the strength of our in-house capabilities and our collaborative approach.

Led by our Construction Manager (North), Iain Mackay, the works brought together all areas of the Scotbuild team including joinery, plumbing, electrical, and painting to deliver a high-quality finish throughout.

Every stage of the renovation, from the initial strip-out to the final decorative touches, contributed to a remarkable transformation. The result is a bright, modern home that showcases the pride, skill, and attention to detail of everyone involved.

Project Spotlight: SSE Facility Refurbishment

We’re excited to showcase one of our recent projects at an SSE facility, where Scotbuild delivered a complete refurbishment of the kitchen, boardroom, hallways, and break rooms.

This project involved all our departments, utilising our multiple trade capabilities, including electrical, joinery, plumbing, and painting. By providing a full in-house service, we were able to ensure the project ran smoothly throughout.

Since Scotbuild’s inception four years ago, we’ve been proud to support a number of apprentices as they work towards gaining their qualifications in plumbing, joinery and painting.

We’re delighted to share that Darren Anderson has recently completed his plumbing apprenticeship with Scotbuild, becoming the first apprentice to complete his qualification from start to finish with the company.

Darren has shown outstanding enthusiasm and dedication throughout his apprenticeship, and we’re excited to see him continue to grow with us as we take on new projects.

When asked about his experience, Darren said:

Key Responsibilities:
- Reviewing tender packages and preparing accurate cost estimates.
- Liaising with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations.
- Assisting with pricing variations and supporting project teams with cost information.

What We’re Looking For:
- Previous estimating experience in construction.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
- Good IT skills (Excel, estimating software, etc.).
- A proactive and professional approach.

A recent project completion in Alness. This full refurbishment saw the 3-bedroom property undergo a complete transformation involving all departments within Scotbuild: joinery, plumbing, painting, and groundworks. All electrical work was carried out by our sister company, Calder Electrical.

As part of this full refurbishment, we treated all timbers throughout the property with a fungicidal application and carried out asbestos removal, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for the client. Our groundworks department also transformed the gardens, removing overgrown shrubbery and completing general landscaping works.

This project was led by our Construction Manager (North), Iain Mackay, who had this to say:
I would like to thank all our departments within Scotbuild and Calder Electrical for all their hard work and dedication throughout this project. The results speak for themselves, and it was a pleasure to hand this renovated property back to the client.
