We have an opportunity for a the right candidate to join our family-owned plumbing and heating business in a newly created apprenticeship role. Due to expansion, J & W Thomson Ltd are looking for reliable individuals with drive and ambition to join our existing team working from our Kintore office on a full-time permanent basis, to work on domestic projects covering all areas within the Aberdeenshire Council catchment.

The right candidate will be prepared to undertake Gas & Oil training and will be required to undergo a basic Disclosure Scotland background check.

You will have a positive attitude, strong communication skills and organisational abilities. This is a great opportunity for an energetic and personable individual to join our growing team.

Responsibilities
• To follow directions of qualified tradesmen
• To attend relevant and mandatory training courses
• General plumbing tasks
• To ensure customer property is respected at all times and work is carried out in a clean and tidy manner

Due to expansion, J & W Thomson Ltd are looking for a reliable individual with drive and ambition to ensure the smooth running of our fast-growing family business office on a day-to-day basis.
You will have a positive attitude, strong communication skills and outstanding organisational abilities. This is a great opportunity for an energetic and personable individual to join our growing team.

Responsibilities
• Implementing and maintaining administrative procedures
• Order supplies including office equipment and ensure the team has the equipment and software they need to do their jobs effectively and to budget
• Manage and liaise with suppliers
• Financial processes including making payments, reconciling accounts, payroll, invoicing and credit control
• Managing and maintaining databases
• Preparing reports and documents
• Organising onboarding and induction for new employees
• Office services including managing the printer, post and other admin
• Liaising where necessary with clients
• Assisting where needed with other functions of the business

Qualities and experience
• At least two years of office-based administrative experience
• Experience with data and management software including Excel
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong time management and outstanding organisational skills
• Attention to detail
• Ability to keep up with a fast-paced business

Excellent package including:
• Salary dependent on experience
Working hours are 9.00 – 5.00, Monday to Friday

The right candidates will preferably have current valid domestic gas qualifications, current CSCS card and a minimum of 3 years' experience, but consideration will also be given to applicants who would be prepared to undertake Gas & Oil training. A full UK driving license is required.

You will have a positive attitude, strong communication skills and organisational abilities. This is a great opportunity for an energetic and personable individual to join our growing team.

• First fix and second fix of plumbing and heating systems
• Experienced in old and new heating and hot/cold water systems
• Installation of new unvented hot water cylinders
• Housing and refurbishment projects
• General plumbing tasks
• Attending emergency call-outs
• To ensure customer property is respected at all times and work is carried out in a clean and tidy manner

Qualities and experience
• Full clean UK driving license is essential
• Able to work quickly and efficiently as an individual and as part of a wider team
• Multi-Skilled with the ability to join in with other work within the same or other jobs
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong time management and organisational skills
• Attention to detail
• Ability to keep up with a fast-paced business

Excellent package including:
• Salary dependent on experience
Working hours are 8.00 – 5.00, Monday to Friday with the potential for overtime.
