New retrofit project underway in a lovely old property in Aberdeen so a good opportunity to highlight the issues around a home where poor attention to detail leaves you with cold areas and draughts. These are new windows installed around two years ago. Trims all tidy and neat. Upon removing the trims we can reveal why the area around the windows was so cold. Gaps straight to the outside around all sides of the frame, in the second picture we can see the daylight flooding in at the bottom and the edge of the slates from the dormer behind the outside trim. This was letting the cold wind straight through to the inside fabric of the building.

We insulate all around the reveals of the windows which you can see as this project progresses.
