We’re delighted to announce the promotion of Ben Olive to Contracts Director for the South region of our business 👏.

Joining Toppesfield in 2015 as a Trainee Quantity Surveyor at 18 years old, Ben has since played an integral role in our success across the south, building trusted customer relationships, delivering successful projects and supporting the development of colleagues across the business.

Over the past decade, Ben has demonstrated exceptional commitment, ambition and leadership. Alongside his professional achievements, he is currently studying for a Master of Business Administration (MBA), further strengthening the knowledge and experience he brings to this new role.

With experience spanning commercial, sales and operational functions, Ben is well placed to support our future growth, strengthen collaboration across the business and continue delivering value for our customers 🤝.

Ben’s appointment to the Board of Directors is a testament to both his contribution to Toppesfield and our commitment to developing talent from within, creating opportunities for our ToppTeam to build rewarding careers, progress and succeed.

World Mental Health Day 🌍🧠

Those working in the construction industry are often the first to turn up, crack on with the job, and push through the difficult days.

We’re an industry built on collaboration and teamwork 🤝, which means we rely on people looking out for each other every day, whether that’s on site, in the yard, behind the wheel of a HGV, or in the office.

While PPE, risk assessments and safe systems of work protect us from physical harm 🦺, many people face challenges that can’t be seen, and sometimes the hardest thing to do is speak up when you’re struggling.

On World Mental Health Day, let’s remember that supporting mental wellbeing isn’t just about today, it’s about the conversations we have and the steps we take every day to make sure nobody feels alone.

Never underestimate the power of checking in with someone and listening, because it could mean more than you may realise 💙.

Every person in our business plays a vital role in keeping the wheels turning on our operations, and at the heart of that is our Logistics team.

Recently, we were proud to present a ToppTalent Award to Kirsty and Caitlin, Transport Planners, for their continued efforts in keeping our projects running smoothly up and down the country. Over the last two weeks, we have been delighted to attend our valued customer, Kier Infrastructure’s, Area 3 & 4 SHE and Innovation Roadshows 🚧.

The events saw supply chain partners come together and demonstrate innovation, new ways of working and good practices across the maintenance and repair contract for Kier’s internal teams and customer, National Highways 🤝.

Nigel Green, Contracts Director, Tom Owens, Contracts Manager, and Andy Connell, SHEQ Business Partner, were delighted to represent Toppesfield and highlight some of the innovative practices we utilise on the contract.

It was a fantastic opportunity to share knowledge, learn from others across the supply chain and demonstrate how innovation can help improve safety, efficiency and sustainability across the network.
