We carried out extensive paint removal, stonework cleaning and repairs to the North and side elevations of this lovely building. We fitted a complete new Bath stone bay window and organised renewal to the leaded lights and to several other windows. Following removal of the existing roof covering concrete repairs were carried out on the roof and a new Bauder flat roof system fitted, along with new timber roof lanterns and a glass access hatch. The building was heavily infested with pigeons so we arranged for netting and wire deterrents to be fitted after clearing the pediment roof space of all waste.

Repairs and re-ordering at St Sylvester Church, Chivelstone.

This 12 month project included repointing all stonework to the Church and tower, rebuilding large sections of the Porch and Vestry, one full replacement tracery window and repairs to others, all new cast iron rainwater goods and other external repairs including leadwork, roofing and underpinning to the porch. Internally we fitted an accessible shower & WC, a new oak staircase and internal west door in the base of the tower. We also installed a new oak glazed screen in the bell ringing chamber and a hideaway kitchenette unit, all to make the Church a much more useable community space.

We are very proud to have worked with the Commonwealth War Graves Commission this year at the Plymouth Naval Memorial, carrying out cleaning of the monument and repointing of the sandstone paving and steps.

We have extensive experience and expertise working with Plymouth Limestone, you can see several examples of our work throughout Plymouth. Most notably amongst these photos is The Box Museum, which showcases our Plymouth Limestone ashlar in varying course heights.

Minster Church of St Andrew, Plymouth

This project involved a series of repairs to the existing Grade 1 Listed church tower, including repointing and stonework repairs to various areas of the tower including cutting out and piecing in new stonework, mortar repairs, replacing corroding metalwork with new non-ferrous metalwork and pinning fractured stones. We also carried out repairs to the slate louvres, wall niches and St. Andrew’s statue. Working with specialist sub-contractors we carried out refurbishment of the weathervane and lead pinnacle caps, and redecoration of all clock faces.
