From tired to timeless ✨

This well-loved armchair has been completely transformed and given a new lease of life.

Reupholstered in beautiful ISLE MILL Callanish wool , with contrasting piping to highlight its classic curves, this piece was also customised with a bespoke 10-inch deep seat cushion, made to the client’s request for extra comfort and support.

It’s always rewarding to breathe new life into furniture that’s built to last.

Student finish ✨

How incredible is this wingback chair completed by Cathy on our upholstery courses. Upholstered in a stunning combination of Linwood Omega velvet in this vibrant fresh green, paired with a contrasting fabric from Linwood’s Small Prints range to the outer panels for a little extra drama 💚

The plain velvet keeps the shape feeling classic, whilst the patterned outside gives it a completely bespoke feel from every angle. The contrast piping just finishes it off perfectly.

These are the kinds of projects that are so rewarding to see come together in the workshop, learning traditional upholstery skills whilst creating something completely unique to take home.

A bit of a special one 💙

This chair has been earmarked for a project for a while… turns out, it was waiting for him.

As part of my eldest’s Primary 1 Easter project, he took on his very first upholstery piece. With a lot of guidance, he’s worked with all natural materials to bring it back to life.

Working on his project in between building dens in the workshop… all part of learning how materials behave and what goes into building a piece properly from the inside out.

The fabric is a Bute wool that I travelled to Bute for years ago, long before he was even born, which somehow makes this feel even more special.

This is exactly what I love about upholstery, it’s a skill, a craft, and something that can be passed down, learned properly, and genuinely enjoyed at any age.

More enjoyment than child labour, I promise, just hands-on learning, curiosity, and that proper sense of pride when you stand back and say “I made that.”

And safe to say… he’s very proud of his chair 💫
