That's the front elevation and lead flat dormer roofs done. Onto the rear elevation next....excellent work from the whole team as usual.

A few pictures showing the progress we are making on our latest contract.
45° pitch so its tough on the legs especially in this heat we have been having lately 🥵🔨, but its nice to see the new slates being laid and we've also made a start on the lead flat roofs. I've got the full team on this one and they are doing a fantastic job 👏

a small 'lean to' roof we did a few years ago, the roof had collapsed so we completely rebuilt it and slated it back in exactly as it was...a few courses of Yorkshire stone flags to start and finished off with the original green slate.

I try to keep politics away from my business page and try to focus on building a customer friendly page, but the news coming from the new PM Andy Burnham sounds promising for small businesses and the high street so i thought id share this from him...let's just hope he sticks to his word and doesn't do a 'Truss' 🤣 .... A pro-business leader’

Burnham emphasised his support for businesses in his first Downing Street address after becoming prime minister. He said: “Make no mistake, everybody. I will be a pro-business leader of the Labour party as I was a pro-business mayor of Manchester.”

He backed up this pledge on 24 July by holding his first official talks with business representatives, including the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB), the CBI, the British Chambers of Commerce, as well as Small Business Britain. He pitched a “new offer” to job creators, promising clearer long-term direction, faster decision-making, and giving businesses a stronger voice in shaping policy.

In exchange, Burnham is calling on employers to partner with the government to help tackle the youth unemployment crisis. Acknowledging that many school leavers are unprepared for the workplace – which makes the skills shortage worse for small businesses. Burnham wants businesses to help restore the “first rung in the ladder” for young people entering the workforce.

The new prime minister has also spoken of regional growth and high street survival, including devolved power to improve high streets, business rates reforms, and improved access to public sector contracts for small businesses.
