RIBA Awards: The Hall

We’re delighted that our proposals to restore ‘The Hall’, an extraordinary grade II* listed 16th century residence, with grade II listed barns and outbuildings has been shortlisted for the regional awards.

On the drawing board, this beautiful farmstead with listed buildings full of character, and lots of scope for adding biodiversity, beautiful planting and spaces for family fun.

A large chalk downland habitat is underway here, with ponds and lots of new trees and hedgerows to come. The mounds will be seeded with chalk meadow species and with a special mix in the adjacent field we hope to tempt the beautiful turtle dove back to its old haunts.

A haha doesn’t have to be huge. This view point across the garden and stunning valley beyond links the kitchen and dining terrace to the wider landscape.

Made with sandstone harvested on site as part of the new passively heated house build, we hope it melds right in.
