Whilst the fixing of flush pipes and boilers has been going this week we have also been busy installing a new shower cubicle for a lovely regular customer. She didn't want to redo the whole bathroom just the shower area. Massive thanks to James, Tom and Andy at James Scott Carpentry & Home Improvements who did the technical work with the panels and the shower screen, they all did a great job. The customer wanted to keep the existing wire shower basket and its fixing, as it reminds her of her late husband who in her words "did what he could with it". 💔

Some boiler work today! Customer called with the heating system overpressurising then dropping to zero. This is quite a common fault and when this occurs usually it is the expansion vessel that's at fault. Sometimes they can be repressurised or they need replacing. This one needed replacing.

Cue role reversal......I was the apprentice and Bryce got stuck in (under my supervision) and replaced his first expansion vessel. The PRV was also changed as this was not working properly. System pressure is now stable.

Bryce is in his last year at college having completed 3 years of the 4 year course. Not long to go now....

We were called to a leaking toilet by repeat customer. Carefully we removed the unit panels around the toilet and found the flush pipe had split. This meant there was a leak when the toilet was flushed. Collected a new flush pipe from wholesaler, returned to site and fitted a new shiny flush pipe. The isolating valve didn't work either so whilst it was accessible the customer asked if we could change it, so we did. Refitted the panelling and applied silicone between the toilet pan and the panel. Waste removed and disposed of properly. Job completed, customer leak free and happy. ✔️

Bought a gazebo so we could cut the shower boards in the dry, set it up.......and the rain stops. Oh well at least its protecting my head from the sun now!

TPH Turner Plumbing & Heating just wanted to mention our very own Bryce Doughty. Bryce has been working for TPH Ltd since May 2023. Bryce has shown dedication to his work and the desire to learn and he's not been late once! He has shown the same dedication to his favourite sport, rugby, and on Saturday 7/9/2024 he earned man of the match in only his 2nd adult match for Kettering Rugby Football Club. Keep up the good work mate. Well done! 👏🏻 🔧🛠🏉

Today we went to service a boiler in Kettering, and it's a good job the customer booked us in. These photos show the exact reason why servicing gas appliances annually is so important. The customer had no idea the flue had become disconnected.
We re-positioned the flue brackets to improve the flue support, reconnected the flue and carried out all the necessary tests to ensure the boiler was left safe.
