Introducing Liberty | Approved Document T Compliant Toilet Cubicles

Meet Liberty, our new flush-fronted toilet cubicle system, designed to provide emergency-access when needed most.

Developed to meet the emergency-opening requirements of Approved Document T, Liberty features a specialist mechanism that allows an inward-opening cubicle door to be opened outwards in an emergency, such as when an occupant has collapsed against the door.

With 44mm doors and pilasters, a retractable aluminium rebate and a choice of Real Wood Veneer, ColourCoat™ or High Pressure Laminate finishes, Liberty brings together safety features and a considered design.

30/09/2026

The Approved Document T has been introduced after concerns have been raised by women, elderly and disabled individuals who feel disadvantaged by the conversion of publicly accessible toilets into gender neutral washrooms. The change seeks to provide washrooms which can be used comfortably by everyone.

Key changes:
đźšąđźšş Reasonable provision for male and female single-s*x toilets

đźš» If space does not allow single s*x or there is room for extra washroom space, these should be shared s*x washrooms which must be fully enclosed spaces containing a WC, washbasin and hand drying facilities.

❌ There should be no shared gender, open hand washing facilities

There is a lot more information to unpack with the new Approved document T regulations. That's why we have written a blog which explains the regulations in more detail for you.

Here at Bushboard Washrooms, we have seen an increase in end users, architects, and contractors recognising the demand for privacy from their intended users.
