🚨 Cold Weather Warning: Frozen Condensate Pipes ❄️

With temperatures dropping, we’re seeing a rise in frozen condensate pipes, one of the most common reasons boilers stop working in winter.

💧 What is a condensate pipe?
It’s the plastic pipe that takes waste water from your boiler to the drain. In freezing weather, this pipe can freeze and block, causing your boiler to shut down as a safety measure.

⚠️ Common boiler error codes linked to frozen condensate pipes:
• Worcester Bosch: EA
• Vaillant: F28 / F29
• Ideal: L2
• Baxi / Potterton / Main: E133 or E110
• Viessmann: F4

🛠️ What you should do:
1️⃣ Check the condensate pipe outside – especially if it runs externally
2️⃣ If frozen, gently thaw it using warm (not boiling) water or a hot water bottle
3️⃣ Reset the boiler once the pipe is clear
4️⃣ Insulate the pipe to help prevent it happening again

🚫 Do NOT pour boiling water directly onto the pipe – it can crack and cause leaks.
