Don't worry - Kielder is open!

We're aware of some confusion around signage when travelling to the forest from Newcastleton/ Bonchester Bridge/ Hawick/ Jedburgh etc.

Signage at Saughtree over the border indicates the road is closed the road into Kielder from the Scottish border is open down to Stannersburn (south of Falstone)

Our Forest Drive is also open (loose stone surface, £5 charge)

There a diversion in place between Kielder and Bellingham (Lanehead to Tarset Bridge) for bridge maintenance work.

We have asked the Highways dept to change the signage to better communicate this and avoid confusion.

We hope this update clarifies the road into Kielder from the NORTH is fully open!

On the eve of opening England's longest downhill trail, our Alex MacLennan did a little video to explain the trail his morning and also share how fantastic Kielder is looking right now!

For those interested in seeing the opening- we have minibus lift to the top of the trail tomorrow- interested in coming to get to the top- (just to see the incredible views at the moment!), come along to Team Cycles for midday tomorrow Saturday!

Saturday 2nd May opening of Deadwater Downhill Trail.
Meet 12pm at Team Cycles...

Well done to everyone who took part and raced the lower sections of the Kielder Deadwater trails on Sunday. See link below..

This Saturday see's the long awaited opening of the top section DOUBLE BLACK graded Deadwater Downhill Trail.

Once open, this will then give riders the opportunity to ride one of (if not) the longest downhill trail in England.

Those wanting to be part of the historic opening, please meet at Team Cycles 12pm before heading up to the top for 1pm opening which is a very informal event to welcome the 1st riders...
