We’re delighted to announce that Mascot Civils have been awarded the Hunterston 400kV Grid Connection project.

The works involve the delivery of a 2.4km 400kV High Voltage Underground Cable Grid Connection between Hunterston East Substation and the Highview Hunterston Stability Island development, with Mascot Civils acting as Principal Contractor for the project.

Our scope includes:

• Design & Engineering
• Supply & Installation
• Jointing & Terminating
• Testing & Commissioning
• Full Project Delivery

This marks our second contract award with this client, and we would like to sincerely thank them for their continued trust and confidence in Mascot Civils to deliver another critical infrastructure project.

This award further strengthens our position within the UK power and energy sector and continues our involvement in the delivery of major grid infrastructure projects supporting the UK’s energy transition.

Another successful energy infrastructure project completed by Mascot Civils.

We recently delivered the full civil engineering package for a 50MW BESS development in Boat of Garten, located in the Scottish Highlands.

Working within a remote location and challenging Highland weather conditions, our team safely and efficiently delivered the project from initial enabling works through to final reinstatement.

Our scope included:

• Temporary access road upgrades
• Construction of new permanent access roads
• Earthworks including topsoil strip and cut & fill operations
• Compound construction works
• Reinforced concrete foundations for BESS units, PCS units and the DNO building
• Full ducting installation works
• Earthing trench excavation
• Final platform stoning and reinstatement works

This project demonstrates Mascot Civils’ ability to self-deliver complex civils packages within demanding environments across the power and energy sector throughout the UK.
