🚪 uPVC Door Failure – Stevenston

Called to a property in Stevenston after the handles on a uPVC door would no longer retract the locking system.

The door was on the verge of completely failing.

On inspection:

✔ Both handle spring cassettes had failed
✔ The multipoint locking mechanism had broken internally
✔ Handles were heavily worn
✔ Internal components no longer engaging correctly

This wasn’t a small adjustment job. Every major part needed replacing.

Good news?

Local garage job in Beith this week.

Nissan Qashqai recovered with no keys available. Customer had completely lost them.

Called out to help an elderly couple who were locked in after their uPVC door failed.
Door opened safely, fault found. The top hook had come apart, causing the lock to jam.
