Early last week we started works on an old pool house, currently being converted into a three-bedroom property.

Picking up from where the previous works had left off, the foul drainage was already in place, but the surface water drainage needed to be reinstated, set to the correct levels and connected into the stormwater mains.

Once complete, we cleaned out and inspected all the foul drainage, ensuring everything was ready for the next stage.

With the drainage now sorted, we’re ready to start preparing the ground for the new paving around the property.

Towards the end of last week, we spent a day digging out and breaking up an existing barn floor, which is now being transformed into a shoot conference room for a local estate.

We dug out the existing floor to the required levels, brought it back up with hardcore, installed DPM and then poured and levelled the new concrete floor.

All ready for the next stage — insulation and floor screed.

Small jobs are just as important as the big ones. While the main works continue, we set out, shuttered and poured a reinforced concrete base to the required levels and specification, ready for the client’s new oil tank to be installed. Another stage complete and the project keeps moving forward.

Phase 2 was completed at the end of last week, with all the manholes installed and the foul and waste water drainage connected into the new septic tank.

We then moved on to installing the essential services, excavating and laying the new water main from the mains supply to the house, the oil duct from the tank to the property, and the electric cable running from the house to the barn.
