A great evening at Exeter College’s awards ceremony at Sandy Park last night.
Usually I’m attending events on behalf of our business, but this time I was there as a very proud Dad.
My son, Alfie, was recognised for his excellent work and attitude throughout his full-time Construction Skills Level 1 course, achieving distinctions across the board and completing the year with flying colours.
It doesn’t seem that long ago that I was learning my own trade at college, so seeing Alfie receive this recognition was a special moment.
Alfie is passionate about building a career in carpentry and is already spending his summer working alongside various trades to gain experience, improve his skills, and put what he has learned into practice.
He is enrolled to start his full-time Carpentry course at Exeter College next year, but his goal is to secure a Carpentry apprenticeship where he can continue learning while working within the industry.
So, this is where I’m asking for a little help from my network.
If you’re a carpenter, builder, contractor, developer, or know of a business in Devon that may be looking to take on an enthusiastic, hardworking apprentice, I’d be grateful if you could get in touch or tag them below.
Alfie has shown a fantastic attitude, a willingness to learn, and a strong work ethic throughout his studies. Now he just needs an opportunity to prove himself.
Thanks in advance for any shares, recommendations, or introductions.
A very proud Dad 👏
