🚪 Jammed uPVC door with a failed ERA Vectis mechanism ❌

A common issue with these locks — the customer reported the key was just spinning round and round without unlocking the door 🔑

Door opened non-destructively, faulty mechanism replaced, and the door quickly realigned to take pressure off the lock 👌🏻

Now back working smooth as new ✅

😂 Bit of a strange one today…

Landlord contacted me regarding a window with a “failed mechanism” that was jammed shut 🪟❌

Once I started opening it, something didn’t feel right 👀

Turns out the hinges had actually failed — but instead of replacing them, somebody previously removed the glass and screwed the window shut into the frame 🤦‍♂️

Glass removed, screws out, new hinges fitted, and now back working like new again ✅

You’d be surprised what I come across sometimes 😂

✨ Glass Replacements, Door Servicing & Weather Bar Installed ✨

A really enjoyable job for a lovely customer 👌🏻

The bathroom unit was replaced with modern sandblasted satin glass, giving a fresh, updated look 🪟✨

All glass units had previously failed due to no packers being used, leaving them sitting in water and causing seal failure ❌💧

Both doors were also poorly manufactured and very draughty, even with the locking points fully tightened. The locking keeps were refitted for better compression, and both doors were fully repacked and serviced 🚪⚙️

Finished off with a weather bar installation, improving the seal and helping keep the water out 🥶✅

Now everything is working better than new — and one very happy customer 😎
