The gully wasn't draining properly. I got to the root of the problem and removed 10 foot long plant root from the side branch.

Bad case of limescale build up. Pieces of limescale broke off from the bottom of the drain and got lodged at the bend. I love my drain camera🥰

I have a lot of blocked drains caused by rats recently. Crafty little creatures are always on the look out for the weaknesses in the drainage system. Uncapped side branches in the manholes, poorly fitted joints. Once they start burrowing for the new nest they push the sand and stones into the drainage system causing blockages. In the worst cases I retrieve up to 150 kg of the material from drains.

Manhole full of sewage. The blockage was caused by the broken gully grid that somehow got through the p trap gully and got lodged in the manhole outlet.

Wet wipes, tampons and the main drain that goes upwards is a recipe for disaster.

It makes me wonder how someone managed to get the tin can down the 4 inch drain? The blockage caused by this can got the downstairs flat in Hull old town to get flooded with sewage.
