This door started as timber on the bench. Framed, glazed and boarded, then primed and painted till the finish was right. Hinges on, checked it swings true, and off it went.
Now it's hung at its new home, settled against the old stone, ready for the years of opening and closing ahead.

These round windows have been watching over Kirkwall for a long time. They'd earned their retirement. New ones, drawn, laminated, machined and glazed in our workshop, now sitting where the old ones sat. Same shape, same lead surrounds, same view, ready for the years to come.

We recently had some very important visitors carry out an inspection of our workshop. The verdict? Our machines are very cool, our giant hammer is funny, and the most impressive thing we do is give our sawdust to farmers. We also received high marks for generosity in the offcuts department. Thank you to the bairns from Eday School for coming to see us — and for the fantastic cards. We've never had better reviews. 🔨
