This time last year I was isolating indoors with Covid. Today I was isolating in the office for a different reason! I wont post a scenic snowy scene as I’m sure you’ve seen enough of those over the last couple of days. Instead, think back to the summer when we had temperatures some 40 degrees higher than today!! 🌞🥵…..And whilst Christmas is just around the corner, stay strong Spring and Summer will be hot on its heels….

The Perennial team carried out this project following a design by Dan and Rebecca Morgan Design. With a complete design and build including groundworks, brick walling and porcelain paving, oak sleeper walling, oak pergola and new shed. The turfing, planting, irrigation, electrics and lighting were complimented by the fantastic garden furniture that we also also sourced and supplied.

Great work as ever by the Perennial team, for one of the best and very patient clients.

One of our latest projects nearing completion that includes a fantastic contemporary twist on a traditional green oak pergola. Together with sawn sandstone paving, clay brick pavers, bespoke oak hurdle fencing, fresh planting scheme and irrigation system. Great team effort by all of the guys as ever in constructing this one. A fantastic project that has been phased over the last couple of years following a substantial clearance of the existing garden. Internally we had a blank canvas to work with and the clients were looking for a low maintenance garden, but plenty of space to entertain, cook and relax in, along with play areas for two young boys (and a grown up one!!)

The outline designs and planting plans were beautifully executed by Rebecca Morgan Garden Design and further enhanced by myself as well as designing the outdoor kitchen and lower garden seating area.
A combination of traditional and contemporary materials have created the perfect blend from the natural Yorkstone walling that we salvaged from the previous garden and new antique tumbled sandstone……to the granite paving, cedar cladding, pizza oven, corten steel features and Dekton worktops.
Great work by all of the Perennial team and various sub-contractors. Plenty of enthusiasm and involvement too from the client, that makes jobs like these all the more rewarding…….

A project we completed earlier this summer including the amazing transformation of what was an old brick built garage into a Western Red Cedar clad outdoor snug and storage room. This became the main feature of the Re-designed and landscaped garden. Dan designed this building which required planning permission within Welwyn Garden City’s conservation area. Garden design by Julie Wise, landscaping by all of the team at Perennial including Sandstone paving, brickwork, bespoke shed, woodland area, fencing, turfing, planting, outdoor electrics and lighting. This earlier summer project included the replacement of a tired patio and rotten timber retaining wall. By using steel beams we created a raised bed, therefore softening the new retaining wall crafted from oak sleepers.

The two tier design created added interest, softened the harshness of a solid retaining wall and introduced a more cosy courtyard feel.

The old concrete paving slabs were replaced with new Indian sandstone within the overall scheme which provided much lower maintenance and easy access to the raised planters. More light floods into the back of the house and both colour and foliage can be seen from ground floor windows.

Completion earlier this summer of this amazing al fresco, multi-level space using lots of quality materials. Plenty of input from the client, including the idea to clad the wall with natural stone, bespoke tongue & groove fencing and lighting. A fabulous group effort from all of the Perennial team in the build of my design and the mix of all these different materials has certainly created an inspiring area for relaxing and entertaining. Design includes composite Millboard decking in Smoked Oak, dark grey and mosaic porcelain tiles from Stonemarket, stone fibre and fibreglass planters from The Pot Company and Adezz.
