Thrilled to have made the shortlist for the Pro Landscaper Project Awards!

Our design to create a garden for the whole family, including areas to cook and entertain together with plenty of space for play for the young children has been shortlisted for the category “Design between £50,000 - £100,000”

It really has been a joy to work on this scheme alongside the brilliant team and I’m delighted with the end result and most importantly so are the clients!

The strong Zig Zag layout of the paving stones are now nicely softened by the rich planting scheme just one year on from planting.

The grasses are looking amazing at this time of year, I love to use Stipa gigantea to add height and create gentle screens to areas.

Plenty to enjoy throughout the year in this long garden. The lovely client is a fan of bold colours, so we’ve included plenty in the planting scheme with Geums, Salvias, Verbenas and Alliums amongst others providing pops of colour.

I particularly like the fun pieces of sculpture and furniture dotted around the garden providing great focal points.

Love this garden! We only finished planting a month ago and already the garden is looking settled and the plants have put on great growth.

Such a delight to see the planting bring the garden back to life. The new entertaining space is surrounded by a fresh planting scheme for the sunny aspect, with a mix of evergreen shrubs, grasses and perennials. The palms have certainly enjoyed the recent heatwave, thankfully the lovely clients have installed irrigation.

Moving further down the garden there are plenty of shady pockets that are the perfect place for some fabulous Acers, hydrangeas and ferns.

I’m looking forward to seeing this one mature into something special.

Plenty of focal points in this wonderful garden completed last autumn. With the bonus of a large plot and mature trees we were able to incorporate a number of interesting elements into this design without impacting the openness of the space.

Very pleased to hear the clients held a large garden party last weekend and made the most of the new layout.

The planting will take another year to really establish, but even in the few months since being planted there is plenty of growth to be seen.

Can’t wait for the pleached hornbeams to fill out and create a substantial screening and backdrop to the water feature built into the raised planter.

The main central bed also incorporates a water table and once the plants fill out, there will be a great contrast between the square feature and the frothy foliage…..that’s if the pet cats can leave the grasses alone 😅

Always a pleasure to call in on these clients to check on how the plants are doing a year after planting.

The small town garden packs a punch with great details such as the Corten steel steps leading from house up to the sunny patio, through the planting, on to the shady deck and into the home office.

A real gem of a garden that’s brought to life by the planting.

Proof that even a small space can provide all one needs to relax, entertain and enjoy being outside.

We removed the lawn from the garden and replaced with planting that is not only much more interesting to look at but also provides food and shelter for pollinators and other insects.

One year on from planting, the garden is really starting to settle and plants have put on growth and gradually filling the large borders.

It’s a beautiful journey from the house down through the borders into the office at the end of the gently sloping garden.

It’s great to see the changes through the seasons, hard to believe it’s only been 12 months since the borders were bare.

We are now providing regular maintenance for our clients to help nurture the plants.

Beautiful day to visit this recently completed garden. Plants went in a month ago and are already putting on growth and settling in nicely thanks to the ground being properly prepared and the irrigation system regularly watering them all.

We will be looking after this one for our clients with fortnightly visits to stay on top of weeds and to nurture the plants to their full potential.

Final photo gives a snippet of the garden a year ago before the design process started.

Great to catch the Amelanchiers flowering in this recently finished project. The plants have only been in for a couple of weeks but, thanks to the irrigation, they are already putting on growth.

A joy to work for these lovely clients and with executing our design brilliantly, the result is a wonderful space that works for the whole family.

A split level patio was needed from the back doors down to the far corner. Instead of one large paved area, I broke the space up by introducing a largely planted section in the middle of the two patios.

The top level is used everyday whilst the lower corner patio used more for entertaining and dining.

We just need some warmer weather now to fully enjoy our gardens.

Forgotten corners of gardens can often be transformed into special places with their own character.

This previously neglected area is now quite a feature of the new large terrace.

A new boundary treatment was needed so a raised brick border provided a perfect opportunity to plant pleached hornbeams that provide screening and create a courtyard feel to the space. The clients water feature was previously hidden elsewhere and now takes centre stage of this view.

We’ve been back today to plant up the wonderful large pots which add another layer of interest and will look fabulous once the Amelanchiers are in bloom.

Swipe to see before.

Amazing to see how vibrant colours pack even more punch when positioned in front of a dark background.

Beautiful foliage of the Cotinus looking amazing and contrasting so vividly with the dark grey painted fence and grass green of the funky garden bench.

A joy to return to this garden today to plant bulbs into the large beds we planted in spring.

We created this zig zag design for our wonderful clients to make the commute more interesting from the house to their office at the bottom of the garden.
