There is still time to help make a difference to a child’s life and keep the magic of Christmas going!

Sharpfibre are supporting Lane Line who is our Sales Executive in her mission of collecting hampers and donations for the charity Kids Inspire. They support children all over Essex, who have been abused, living in tough circumstances and those that have suffered the loss of a parent.

Not only do the hampers make up most of the Christmas meal for a family, they also give them a treat of chocolate - something that many of us take for granted!

Our newest case study is the Barking Riverside Station, which will service the largest housing development in East London. The Barking Riverside rail extension adds 4.5km of new track to the Gospel Oak to Barking Overground line and includes a new Station at Barking Riverside.

Sharpfibre’s final installed solution of Fire Rated Ceilings to the mezzanine floors, demonstrated how passive fire protection can create both a decorative and functional solution, as well as providing a high level of fire protection.

We thought we would introduce you to members of the team as part of a Team Tuesday series.

Today, we introduce you to Dave Harper our MD.

Dave has been working in the construction industry since the early 1980’s, before joining Rockwool in 1990, and entering the world of fire protection. Dave worked at Cryotherm and then Grace before joining Sharpfibre in 2000 as Technical Director.

Dave has been a member of the ASFP Council for 21 years, eight of which have been as either Vice Chair or Chairman. Dave was on the liaison group setting the rules and requirements for FIRAS, the first third party accreditation scheme.

In his time with Sharpfibre, Dave has worked on projects from individual homes to many of the UK’s signature projects, offering advice, support, and solutions.

When not working, you will find Dave on the golf course or in the kitchen!

A Throwback Thursday to our Dartford Thurrock Crossing project for The Highways Agency.

With the amount of heavy good vehicles that use the Dartford Thurrock Crossing, it was necessary to adopt a high-performance fire protection design within the West Tunnel.

The scope of the project included:
• Fire Protection: 9,300m² Promat Promatect®-T Board
• Support Structure: 9,300m² Stainless Steel Framing System
• Drainage: 9,300m² Stainless Steel Water Ingress Management System

Following meticulous planning, both pre-construction and while on site, the passive fire protection works were successful delivered 26 weeks after commencement.
