Our clients may not know that we offer a log splitting service.

With our 40 ton Rapid log splitter with a 4 second cycle time!
Meaning we could in theory split 15 logs a minute 😱πŸ’ͺ

Even better we can offer a full production service from tree to shed.
Like our clients below;

These pictures are the final finished stages of a tree, we climbed and removed, wood chipped the waste & split all of the logs ready to burn this winter.

The tree was removed in October 2025 after the birds had left there nests inside of the trees canopy. We began splitting the wood at the start of 2026 before disaster struck and the machine was out of action.

Now fully capable we are booking in splitting work for 2026!

From the Forest to the Mill; for us anyway, This Oak stem had been recovered from a tree fallen during storm Amy or Floris (hard to remember now). Unfortunately this client by far came off worse from the high winds as he watched several large mature trees blow over, fall and destroy 40 years of his hard work in his fantastic mature garden of 5 acres.

When posed with the logistical challenge of moving these huge oak logs 2 ways of extraction presented themselves.

1) sacrifice this fantastic timber & cut it for firewood, make the extra journeys hauling the logs.

2) Set up the mill and bring all the required equipment to attempt to salvage usable materials from these stems.

The choice for us was obvious, in only a day and a half we took away 2 trailer logs of oversized logs and milled these beautiful boards out of the 2 Oak stems.

Now moving boards may seem like an easy task, but not on this scale! Each board was 3 metres long and milles as close to 3.5 inches as possible & the timber is still wet.

Meaning each board weighed a whopping 150-200kg each! 😱

Giving away the trade secrets now! πŸ˜‚

A short video we made showcasing our methods used at Balblair Woods, Loch Fleet SSSI nature reserve.

Using lightweight powerful battery equipment our operators were able to limit fatigue, reduced exposure to harmful emissions and chemicals
& Work in comfortable positioning to prevent back pain and bad posture.

The equipment we used was much quieter than conventional petrol saws and significantly lighter than their battery counterparts.

Minimal disturbance caused to the surround wildlife & members of the public & a huge reduction in emissions and the use of fuel & chemicals.

It's been A very busy couple of months during this time we have been firmly getting stuck in with 2 large tenders we secured.

Below are some pictures of our work In Balblair Woods, Little Ferry, Loch fleet SSSI Nature reserve.

We decided to take a completely new approach to handling this Non-Native tree removal project.
A method that not only benefits the wild life and surrounding members of the public but also our operatives who were working on the site.

A low noise, low impact, environmentally minded approach that minimised disturbance & reduced emissions vastly.

Some videos to follow coming πŸ”œ

Finally to bring us up to date, last week and this week!

You may have seen us commuting the A9 again last week and this week firstly Helmsdale to carry out a couple of jobs which aren't featured here.

Below is the work we finished today for Dunbeath Castle Estates.
Some extremely complex rigging on some sketchy Ash timber, a large Sycamore fell and a
An Elm tree roadside reduction all carried out on the green opposite the now close Bay restaurant.

The team did a fantastic job as usual everything executed safely and perfectly πŸ’ͺ

The scale and complexity of our jobs is increasing further more πŸ˜…

Next in 2026, we took on a tricky tree in Dornoch.

Another example of big trees in the wrong place and more concerned clients.

Time for this Sycamore to go!

With its large crown spanning over 4 garden's,
Very tight access and it's large trunk.

This tree took some creative rigging careful planning and the A team πŸ’ͺ

With the twilight hours creeping in around December 2025 it was a day light battle to finish this planting installation.

One of our loyal clients had tasked us with the design and installation of nearly 100 Heather plants and 3 Jacquie Monti Silver Birch trees

We had a fantastic collection of Spring, Summer & Autumn flowering Heathers which we planted in pocket clusters which we hope will put on a truly spectacular display of colour year round.

From summer 2025, into the winter of 2025πŸ₯Ά

Sometimes we have to make hard decisions & even more so when working with clients who have their own requirements.

After visiting this fantastic Beach tree & consulting on the best course of action, the client decided it was too much of a risk to maintain it.

Rather than a full removal which was put forward to us by the client, we requested a Monolith to at least give the tree a possibility to survive and regenerate, of course there is absolutely no guarantee it will survive the work carried out with such a drastic course of action.

After the strong winds we unfortunately saw an increase in work not from storm damage but from concerned clients with big trees 🌳
