Replaced this monstrosity of a consumer unit last week as part of an ongoing property refurbishment.
Due to a dual tariff supply & dual phase, the unit is designed to house all circuits in a compliant & much neater unit complete with surge protection & Full RCD protection.

Call out today for a customer who’s kitchen down lights had stopped working. Identified the issue as faulty transformers.
“No problem”
Moved the furniture in the above bedroom, lifted carpet carefully, lifted chipboard flooring to reveal faulty units & replaced with a new LED 12volt driver, tested lights for correct operation, problem solved.
Replaced flooring & re fitted carpets & helped customer to move furniture back in.
Another very happy customer.

Certification issued including building compliance certificate in line with part P & building control notified, also ventilation certification issued in compliance with part F of the building regulations.

Replaced this consumer unit today for a customer, the old unit was having nuisance tripping issues due to number of circuits per RCD, they also required some spare ways to accommodate on going works at the property.
A full test & inspection carried out, certification compiled & building control notification (part P) registered with building control including a 6 year insurance backed warranty.

A recently installed new earth electrode, this was fitted to a property that was found to have no earthing arrangement on a periodic inspection, this was potentially a very hazardous condition & with class 1 metallic fittings in the property could have resulted in an electric shock.
