Another busy week for CMF and we wouldn’t have it any other way! 🙌🏼

Good afternoon,
With the hot weather continuing, here are a few reminders for everyone at home,

🌱 Grass & Turf Care
• Try to water early morning or later in the evening
• Avoid cutting grass too short during hot spells
• Newly laid turf especially needs regular watering to stop it drying out

🐾 Don’t Forget Your Animals
• Make sure pets always have access to fresh water and shaded areas
• Patios, decking, and artificial grass can become extremely hot on paws
• Please check surfaces before letting pets walk on them

💧 Stay Safe in the Heat
• Keep hydrated
• Take breaks where possible
• Look after each other
• Reapply suncream often, especially if in and out of water.

The week is almost over with the sunshine joining🙌🏼

But the work doesn’t stop for us just because the working week has ended,
At CMF Building & Landscaping limited we are proudly based in Lampeter, but no two weeks ever look the same for us. One day we’re working locally, the next we’re loading up before sunrise and heading hours away with trailers, machinery and enough Redbulls to keep the team moving ⚡️

From small private jobs to larger commercial work, outside or inside, muddy fields to difficult access sites, we’re fully equipped and always ready to get the job done properly, whatever the weather no matter the location.

Being based in West Wales doesn’t mean we stay put. We’ve built great relationships with customers right across Wales because people know they can rely on us to turn up, work hard and leave a job done to the best standard 🫡

Another full transformation completed

This one started with an old, unsafe outhouse that was collapsing and covered with asbestos roofing. Everything was carefully removed and disposed of properly, taking it right back to a clean slate

We then knocked down the failing wall and replaced the boundary with brand new feather edge fencing, giving it a much cleaner and more solid finish. To deal with the ground levels, we installed a sleeper retaining wall to hold back the old mud bank and make the space usable again

From there we built a brand new timber outhouse from the ground up fully insulated, boarded and plastered internally so it’s not just a shed, but a proper usable space all year round

Massive improvement both structurally and visually, and a space the customer can actually make use of now

✨ MEET THE TEAM ✨

Callum - The Boss. Callum Flavell
From the West Midlands and running the whole show, the face behind the company! Callum’s into anything with speed or competition, he’s a big football fan supporting Manchester United (no judgement 👀 ), darts, F1, motocross. When he’s not working flat out, you can find him on his bike or on family days out the missus has planned. A proper family man who’s worked non-stop to provide for his five kids - “The reason for it all”.

Aaron - The Mini Boss . Aaron Clubb
Straight outta Manchester, Aaron’s our team leader and the one keeping everyone in check (most of the time). A proper “Jack of all trades” there’s not much he can’t turn his hand to. Loves boxing and UFC, and after a long week of grafting you’ll probably find him socialising with a pint or a smooth honey Jack Daniel’s.

Ben - The Digger King. Ben Roach
Ben is the newest member of the team, specialising in groundworks and 360 operating, but can do pretty much everything. He’s recently become a proud dad to baby Remy, who he shares with his lovely partner Ffion. A big sports fan, Ben enjoys both rugby and football (Chelsea supporter, he’s new so we’ll let him off 👀) and doesn’t mind a Guinness after a hard day’s work - now swapped for a baby bottle of milk.

Dan - The Trainee Tradie, Daniel Jones
Dan’s our labourer and learning the ropes. Keen, hardworking & dedicated. Dans a Big Liverpool fan ( yuck🤮), loves darts and a bit of gaming when he’s off the clock. Most importantly, he’s a proud dad to two beautiful daughters and spends his time off with them and his wonderful partner Mary, who plans fantastic activities for their little family.

Still well behind on keeping up with posting our work lately as we’ve been absolutely flat out 🤯

Here’s a job from June last year… just shows how far back we still are getting through!

This one was a full garden strip out and reset. The customer just wanted everything taken right back so they could start fresh and actually make use of the space again.

• Full clearance of overgrown garden
• Reduced and levelled the whole area
• Prepped ready for a complete redesign

Took us 1 week to complete and required over 4 grab loads to get all the waste off site 💪🏻

Massive transformation from what it was 👌🏻

🌊 COASTAL TRANSFORMATION – STACKPOLE PROJECT 🏡

Wow… what a job this turned out to be!
Our customers John & Alice made the big move to the beautiful coast near Stackpole and trusted us to completely transform their outdoor space and we absolutely delivered 💪

🚧 The First Challenge – Damp & Drainage

This is an old stone property sat on hard clay foundations, and the outside soil level was far too high, pushing damp back into the house 😬

So we:
⬇️ Reduced ground levels down the side of the property
🚰 Installed new downpipes & full drainage systems
🪨 Built a 2m x 2m x 2.5m deep soakaway filled with 10+ tonnes of 20mm clean stone

Overkill? Maybe… but this area had been boggy on every visit — we wanted a permanent fix, not a temporary one ✔️

Fresh topsoil and turf were then reintroduced to bring the area back to life 🌱 (turf photos to follow!)

🌿 Garden Upgrade

With the groundwork complete, we moved on to the transformation:

🧱 Widened the rear garden area
🪜 Installed new steps
🧱 Constructed strong retaining walls
🇮🇹 Laid a premium Italian porcelain patio expensive slabs, but the finish speaks for itself 😍
✨ Finished off with golden flint stone to tie the whole design together

🚗 Driveway Improvements

We also widened the driveway and added a retaining wall across the back for added strength and longevity.

😅 The Unexpected Moments

No big project is complete without surprises…

During excavation we uncovered and Clipped:
💧 Water mains 🫣
⚡ Electric mains 😬
🔥 A gas line built directly into the original concrete steps! 🙈

None of this was our doing, none of the services were in the right location on the plans and were not at the correct depths. but once identified the homeowner chose to relocate the gas line properly. We coordinated with gas engineers, excavated a new pit, backfilled with the correct materials, and reinstated soil and turf safely and professionally 👌

A huge amount of work, serious problem-solving, and an incredible final result.
Another outdoor space completely brought back to life 🙌🌟
