So ants are very prolific this year, and this is my go to for a typical call out.
Apply a slow acting insecticidal gel which they harvest and take back to the nest to carry out maximum destruction.

Well everyday is a school day.
I have never come across wasps using an old nest, I have seen wasps raid last years nests for protein from grubs that never made it, but never seen a new nest being built on top of an existing nest.

This was a gas tank and as you can imagine when the lid was opened the tanker driver got a bit of a shock, legged it and the rest is history.

Love this job, every day you come across nature at its best, appreciate wasps haves vital role to play, but not when at the cost of ordinary folks just going about their daily job.

The spiralling and crippling cost of running a small business who relies on a vehicle to produce all the business income.

It’s wrong that we pay fuel duty and then VAT, double tax should be illegal.
But its not just about our business, this effects everyone who relies on any vehicle in day to day life.
It’s pushing up the prices of everything we consume or need on a daily basis, it’s also crippling for those who live rurally.

This petition highlights the true burden and unfairness, I’m calling for fuel duty to be halved & for fuel to be VAT exempt.

I started a similar petition 4 years ago and it recieved over 84,000 signatures.
I’m hoping this will draw a lot more attention and at least have the question pushed to the forefront of this government.

Back when I made the tongue n’ cheek fuel flap sticker, I could fill the van from empty’ish for about £86.
This was just over the 1/4 tank…….😥

Never mind Hatton Garden or the great train robbery, wouldn’t be surprised if Tankers with fuel are the next high value targets to get robbed…….

I started this journey of self employment 5 1/2years ago, I set out to do an honest and fair job for clients.
The company has absorbed the rising costs of Covid and then the subsequent rise in the costs of living incurred by the Ukraine conflict.

Now we have the effects of the Iran war, everything has been effected in our day today living: fuel, energy, food, produce to daily consumable’s.

As of next week the company unfortunately will be raising its prices for contractual services and domestic job work and our working week will be cut to 4 working days for the time being, commercial clients will still receive 24/7 cover.

Rising costs of living affects us all, but unfortunately it hits small businesses the most.

Apologies if I have been unavailable, not returned calls but It’s been a difficult and stressful week and a half, and it’s put a lot of things into perspective, our dogs are our children and very much our family members.

So what started off as a suspected ear infection (vestibular disease) causing Indy’s balance issues, she was referred to Vet Scotland hospital last Tuesday, but unfortunately had to rush our wee girl back on Friday morning after Jaundice set in heavily during the night, poor wee soul was practically lifeless and couldn’t even get up.

Today we got the best phone call in the world, after CT scan MRI scan and extensive bloods, led to a diagnosis of IMHA.
This is an auto-immune disorder which is very often only discovered during an autopsy or when it’s too late.
We’re no stranger to this as our beloved Max (Doberman) suffered from the same.
So after strong course of steroids and Anti-blood clotting drugs, it’s believed the neurological balance issue was a blood clotting to the brain.
She was admitted with a red cell count of mid teens, yesterday her count was 19 and this morning it was 23.
Her liver was enlarged and her Biliruben levels were over 200 on admission, this morning they were just below 90 and normal levels should be 11-13z
So she’s not out the woods yet, but she’s home and comfortable and Jura was delighted to see her and has hardly left her side since she came home.

I can’t thank our friends for all the messages of concern and well wishes.
End of the day our dogs are our children and we will do anything to ensure their well being and longevity of the best possible life.

I won’t lie, I never thought I’d see her walk back out of the hospitals doors.
Huge thanks to the specialists team at Vet Specialist Scotland in Livingston, you’ve returned our Indy home, she is not out the woods yet and it’s going to be a slow recovery, but we have a plan and she has the strongest heart to get through it. 🐶👍🏻

There will be a slight delay this week, the radiator decided to leak….. 🤦

And it good old French design, you need to strip the whole front end just get into replace it. So I feel it’s going to be a long week whilst we play catch-up.

It’s sh*te being good at your job and being in high demand….:

We ended up working right through to hogmany, 30th December was a 2230 hr finish and 31st was 2030hr finish.
Wish everyone a happy new year, but a break is required to recharge the batteries.

Normal service will resume on the 19th of January for domestic call outs.
However as always we shall remain on 24hr call out for corporate clients during this holiday period.

Due to high volume of callout’s the diary is closed until the start of next year for domestic work.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all our customers who we have been able to help throughout 2025, it’s been another amazingly busy and exiting year of growth and unusual jobs.

We will be closed from the end of play on the 19th December and returning to normal service on Wednesday 7th January.
We will however be on call and maintaining emergency calls for contract customers during this period.

We will you all a Merry Christmas a Happy New Year & all the best for 2026.
