Following on from the recent Sigenergy battery post, here’s the EV charger that completes the setup ⚡

We’ve fitted Sigenergy’s 22kW AC charger here. The clever part is the ecosystem: even though the charger sits away from the battery system, it links over the network so everything’s controlled from one app.

That’s the real benefit of matching brands. Use a different charger and your batteries can drain into the car the moment you plug in. With this, you can decide to pull from the battery or block it and charge from the grid during the day, all from the app.

It’s untethered too, so you bring your own lead, and on three-phase it’ll charge up to 22kW. Most cars top out at 11kW today, but more will hit that full 22kW rate in the years ahead.

Another system up and generating ☀️

This system has 19 x UKsol 500w panels, giving a potential peak power of 9.5 kW

We’ve installed this alongside the Tesla Powerwall 3 battery system. We got the full DNO approval on this, meaning it can output its full potential of 11 kW 💪

As well as a PV inverter, the Powerwall 3 has a 13.5 kWh battery, to keep the home powered outside of sunlight hours 🔋

We’ve also installed the Tesla Backup gateway, meaning this home will be kept up and running in the event of a power cut. The Powerwall 3 can deliver 48 amps of continuous power to the home ⚡️

This solar array is finished beautifully with the Solaskirt bird protection, a black aluminium trim that wraps around the perimeter 🐧 SolaSkirt

This SigenStor battery system started as a 15kW three-phase inverter with two battery modules. The customer loved it so much they’ve already added two more, with space to grow to six ⚡

Why this system? In a power cut it keeps the whole property running off grid on all three phases, with a near-instant changeover. And with the option to add Sigenergy’s DC EV charger down the line, the car could one day power the house. They’re one of the first to make that happen in the UK.

Part 3: Built for fair use and future expansion ⚡

Every supply has its own check meter, so when energy costs are split between tenants there’s a clear record of usage from each property and communal supply.

With a lot of the power coming from solar, it can be passed on at a fair rate — good for the landlord and the tenants.

The myenergi Zappi EV charger has been upgraded to run at 22kW now we’re on three-phase, and we’ve installed hardwired ethernet to the Zappi and Sigenergy gateway so neither relies on Wi-Fi.

Spare ducting has been laid throughout for any future inverters or control gear — no digging required 🛠️

Down in Shoreham-by-Sea, roof space was tight, so we made the most of the dormer roof with 11 Anglo Solar 460W bifacial panels 👌

At a 30° pitch the east/west layout barely affects generation, and it actually let us fit more panels on for higher overall output.

It’s paired with a Sigenergy system: a 5kW inverter and two 9kWh batteries, expandable up to six.

We’ve set the isolators high to leave room for the stack to grow, whether that’s more batteries or a future DC EV charger to make it vehicle-to-home and vehicle-to-grid ready ✅

Part 2: A closer look at the new supply setup ⚡

UK Power Networks installed a new 100A three-phase supply into the kiosk, feeding a Sigenergy gateway that keeps the whole property running off-grid in a power cut.

From there, it feeds a three-phase board for communal supplies (sewage pumps, gates) and three switch fuse disconnectors — one feeding the existing barn, with two spare ready for new dwellings being built on the plot.

All designed to support the site as it grows 🛠️

Called to the rescue at a rural property where the existing solar setup wasn’t performing ❌

The previous installer had fitted 2x 6kW inverters on a single phase — 12kW feeding back to the grid, installed without DNO permission. Voltage was rising in the area and the inverters kept faulting.

We got the DNO involved, decommissioned the old system and installed a properly designed 3-phase setup in its place.

Back to this property in the South Downs, around a year on from installation ☀️🏡

With 14x 440w Jinko panels, optimisers to help with shading and a Myenergi libbi battery system, this setup has been performing exactly as intended.

With surplus solar now helping to power a heat pump, the homeowner’s energy bills are effectively zero, while the battery provides added reassurance during outages in this rural location.

Great to see it delivering long-term ⚡️

Adding more capacity to a high-usage property in rural Sussex ☀️

We’ve installed two new strings of 12x Gen 3 Aiko 475w panels, a Schletter on-roof mounting and bird mesh protection. Designed to integrate seamlessly with the existing arrays.

With outages common in the area and further expansion planned on the estate, this system will help keep batteries charged, reduce grid reliance and support the energy needs of all homes on site.
