I had the pleasure of picking up my Dad today as we popped down to Jephsons Garden in Leamington Spa where the Arts Festival was on.

As we walked arround with a ‘flake99’ followed very closely with a pint of cool shandy, We noticed a selection of pencil drawings on a decorating table. One particular drawing was of an old man’s face with a turban, big beard and lots of rinkles and I was drawn to it instantly. Such great detail and all done with a pencil and shading.

I asked the fella (Jack) behind the table to tell me about this one and he confirmed he scetched it when he was particularly low and suffering with his mental well-being and he explained how that drawing helped to make him feel better.

I asked Jack how much would he charge if I were to buy it. He looked me in the eyes as he passed the picture to me and said. You have it, I want you to have it from me. I was shocked and moved beyond anything I’ve felt for a very long time. Such a privilege not only to meet the man but also get given an amazing picture.

Dad and I shock his hand realising how lucky we were, drifted over to the beer tent where we got Jack a cool pint to say yet another big thanks how much we appreciate him and his talent.

Wow, what a guy and what a great time spent with my Daddy 😝🙏💕🥰💪
