For the wasps and European hornets it's a great year, in fact they both do a great job at managing pests around your garden. BUT, if you or your neighbours suffer from anaphylaxis, or you have never been stung before, you may consider it a good idea to have them removed.

Although not a major problem there are people who suffer from phobias and anaphylactic shock.
Most pest control companies will deal with wasp nests if they pose a public health risk

Truly amazing structures built by these incredibly robust creatures, the yellowjacket (Vespula vulgaris). This one was in the under eaves storage in someones bedroom in Effingham, Surrey. Up to 7-8000 female workers within the nest.
