We’re always proud when we can use our skills and resources to make a positive difference in the communities around us.

A big thank you to Maltby Town Council for the kind words and for sharing these before and after photos.

🌲Our team were pleased to help clear the overgrown foliage around Maltby Miners Community Recreation Ground, carrying out the work free of charge.

It was a great opportunity for our colleagues to get involved in a local project and help improve a much-loved community space.

⚽ A little support off the pitch can make a big difference.

CML was proud to support Newark Brazil FC with pitch repairs following the recent prolonged dry spell, helping get the pitch back into shape at Claypole Community Park.

As proud sponsors of the team’s kit, we were delighted to go one step further and provide some extra hands-on support to help the club and its players.

🎓 A fantastic week of work experience at our Leeds office!

Recently, we were delighted to welcome four students – Harrison, Tom, Dan and Isabel – to CML for an exciting week of work experience.

👷 During their time with us, they got a behind-the-scenes look at life within a civil engineering business, spending time with teams across our commercial, sustainability and marketing departments. They also received valuable career guidance and learned more about the diverse opportunities available within the industry.

We've been incredibly impressed by their enthusiasm, curiosity and willingness to get involved. It’s been fantastic to see them embracing new experiences, asking insightful questions and making the most of every opportunity throughout the week.

🤝 A big thank you to everyone across the business who contributed to making their experience so worthwhile, sharing their knowledge, expertise and advice along the way.

🎤 To round off the week, each student delivered a presentation to members of our team, confidently showcasing what they had learned and reflecting on their experience at CML.

👏 We’d like to wish Harrison, Tom, Dan and Isabel every success for the future. We hope their time with us has provided a valuable insight into the world of civil engineering and inspired them as they consider their next steps.

🎉 Congratulations, Ben and Harry!

A huge congratulations to Ben Longfellow and Harry Bennett on successfully completing their Level 4 Civil Engineering Apprenticeships.

As part of their apprenticeship, both achieved their Higher National Certificate (HNC) in Civil Engineering and passed their End Point Assessment (EPA) – a fantastic achievement that reflects all their hard work and dedication.

Throughout their time at CML, Ben and Harry have developed valuable skills and experience while working on live civil engineering projects. We're incredibly proud of everything they have accomplished.

✅Their journey doesn't stop here! In January 2027, they'll take the next exciting step by starting a Degree Apprenticeship at Leeds Beckett University while continuing their careers with CML.

Reflecting on their success, Ben and Harry said:

"We found the EPA both challenging and rewarding and are very pleased with our results. We couldn’t have done it without the help and support of Julian Thomas and Jack Forman. Thank you."

A big thank you to our training team, mentors and everyone who has supported them along the way.

🎓 CML are delighted to celebrate Jordan Blakemore and Andy McCann, who have achieved exceptional results in their BSc (Hons) Construction Project Management degree.

Completing a degree while working full-time and studying part-time is no small feat. Their success is a testament to the hard work, dedication and perseverance they have shown throughout their academic journey.

Over the years, Jordan and Andy have balanced college and university studies alongside managing multiple projects in a fast-paced working environment, demonstrating remarkable commitment, resilience and determination every step of the way.

Reflecting on their achievement, they said:

“We would like to thank CML for giving us the opportunity and the support to complete our degree.”

What a day! 🎉

We’re still smiling after celebrating 40 years of CML with so many of the amazing people who have been part of our journey.

It was fantastic to welcome back former colleagues, celebrate with our current team, and hear reflections from our Chairman, Geoff Mortimer, as we looked back on four decades of memories, achievements and milestones.

The celebration was a wonderful reminder that CML is built on great people, strong relationships and teamwork - values that continue to shape who we are today.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us to mark this special milestone, and to everyone who has been part of the CML story over the last 40 years.

We hope this video gives you a glimpse of what made the day so memorable.

🥳 Huge congratulations to Skye Noble on successfully completing her Level 4 Quality Practitioner Apprenticeship with an incredible Distinction in her End-Point Assessment (EPA)!

⭐This is a fantastic achievement and a real reflection of the hard work, commitment and determination Skye has shown throughout her apprenticeship journey.

What makes this success even more inspiring is that this wasn’t originally the career path Skye applied for. Her journey is a brilliant example of why recognising potential and creating opportunities matters - there are many different routes into successful careers beyond traditional pathways.

👏 We’re also proud to celebrate an important milestone for CML, as Skye becomes the first person to complete the Quality Practitioner Apprenticeship within the business.

A huge thank you to our Compliance team for the support, guidance and encouragement they’ve provided along the way. Achievements like this are always a team effort.

🎊 Following the completion of her apprenticeship, Skye will now move into the role of Compliance Co-ordinator within the team.

👏This is a fantastic achievement and a true reflection of Tom’s hard work, commitment, and the consistently high standards he brings to everything he does. Tom was joined by colleagues on the night to celebrate this well-deserved recognition, making it a brilliant occasion all round.

👷Our Sheffield Works Delivery team have recently completed a challenging debris clearance operation at Leeds Arches - a section of the River Aire well known for being extremely difficult to access and work within.

🛶Starting back in November, the team worked tirelessly day in and day out through cold, dark and muddy conditions over several months, successfully removing debris and trees from the river in a demanding environment.

Lewis Hutchinson, Works Delivery Manager, said:
"A huge thank you to everyone involved. This was no easy task, and your efforts are greatly appreciated by myself and all those involved."
