A small construction update from our amazing private home project in Linton, not long till we see the scaffold drop

Following a positive pre-application process, we’re pleased to have submitted this transformation of an existing disjointed bungalow for full planning permission.

Set within the Wharfe Valley landscape area and the Green Belt, the project has required a carefully considered planning and design approach. Rather than simply extending the property, the proposals redistribute and rationalise the volume of the bungalow’s various historic additions to create one coherent home.

The result is a significantly more unified architectural composition, drawing on the local vernacular through stone, slate and simple gabled forms, while introducing a contemporary layer through glazing, detailing and the reworked internal arrangement.
A challenging site and planning context, but one that has allowed us to develop a much stronger architectural response.

Now for something completely different.

With a challenging three-month programme, E3 Architecture were commissioned to develop a large-scale masterplanning study.

Rather than treating each element as a standalone destination, the proposal was developed as a complete ecosystem.

A defining aspect of the project was the commitment to developing the concept beyond a collection of visualisations. The entire masterplan was modelled and tested in 3D, allowing circulation, arrival sequences, operational requirements, back-of-house infrastructure, servicing, parking, and user experience to be considered as part of a single coordinated vision.

The result was a fully realised masterplanning framework that balanced ambitious design thinking with buildability, functionality, and long-term flexibility.

At E3 Architecture, we believe the most successful destinations are not defined by individual buildings, but by how every element works together to create a cohesive experience.

A glimpse inside one of our latest healthcare projects.

An isometric and internal visual of a luxury day-case surgery unit currently being prepared for Pre-Application. The proposal has been carefully shaped to respond to a highly constrained site, resulting in a distinctive operating theatre suite with four spacious private recovery rooms and supporting clinical facilities. Designed as a self-contained day-case unit, the extension allows the existing hospital to remain fully operational throughout the construction phase, minimising disruption to patients and clinical services.

The design balances contemporary architecture with a calm, patient-focused environment, combining natural light, premium materials and carefully considered clinical planning to create a facility that enhances both patient experience and operational efficiency.

We are excited that this bespoke country home has now gained full planning permission.

A challenging site with a significant proportion positioned within the Green Belt, required careful site analysis, detailed volume calculations and a sensitive design approach to achieve approval.

The final proposals deliver a stunning self-build courtyard home, traditional outbuildings and extensive landscaped curtilage, all carefully designed to respond to the sites rural character and setting.

A sensitive greenfield site on Otley Road for , positioned between multiple conservation areas and centred around the restoration of a historic early-1800s lodge house once associated with the Weetwood Reservoir.

Following a lengthy and complex planning process, E3 Architecture secured approval for a carefully considered scheme that restores the heritage asset while introducing a contemporary new dwelling designed to remain subservient within the landscape.

The result is two high-quality family homes that balance heritage, landscape and modern living, proving that sensitive, design-led architecture can protect and enhance vulnerable historic settings for future generations.

A bespoke courtyard home in Harrogate, designed for a highly constrained greenfield infill site within a conservation area and the curtilage of a listed building.

The proposal carefully balanced privacy, overlooking, heritage and amenity constraints following a lengthy planning history of refused schemes, resulting in a calm and contemporary home inspired by traditional coach house architecture and the surrounding Victorian context.
