Sirius to bring Enabling Works Zone to UKREiiF 2026

Recently completed remediation and earthworks scheme in the North West, for a commercial end use. Variable ground conditions proved to be a challenge along with the weather, however we adapted to the complications implementing Sirius’ specialist in-situ and ex-situ soil modification plant. Cut to fill earthworks were undertaken using modified soils which were re-engineered in accordance with the earthworks specification to achieve the required performance criteria. A working platform was then placed over the building footprint to facilitate further ground improvement, via installation of vibro stone columns.

Works were completed and handed over in phases giving our client maximum gains on programme.

Works have recently commenced on a remediation and earthworks scheme in . The site was historically part occupied by a clay pit before being backfilled and terraced housing stock built. These have since been demolished with the site being vacant for a number of years. Works involve site clearance, turnover and processing of the upper made ground to remove any relic foundations associated with the historical land use before re-engineering to achieve the required compaction specification and to the prescribed formation levels. Recovered oversize materials will be crushed and re-used on site as working platforms and within road corridors. The site is heavily constrained with live services, which require careful and safe management throughout the works.

Works are progressing well with a programmed first phase handover just a few weeks away!

Remediation and earthworks progressing well at our West Yorkshire project. Remediation Strategy necessitates processing & re-compaction of soils to a standard suitable for ground bearing foundations, in accordance with NHBC Chapter 4.6. Moisture control will be a key consideration here, during periods of high temperatures (yes, we have a moan about it being too dry aswell!). We expect to handle in excess of 80,000m3 of soils, including associated processing, crushing and placement of working platforms.

As programmed, early release of an initial phase of works will be achieved this week, to facilitate progress of infrastructure & residential development.
