What a difference a week makes! 🌦 no need for watering yesterday!

We had a brilliant session! 🥰

We harvested (and ate) lots of tomatoes, a couple of tomatillos, a courgette and a tiny carrot 🥕😄

We planted out Kale and spring onions.

We had a go at ground and air layering on our honey suckle. Which involved scraping bark from an older branch and wrapping it in in some soil, to try and encourage new root growth.

Then we propergated some semi ripe rosemary, dipping the stalks in rooting powder and placing them on the outskirts of pots 😁

Sorry to say that we have had to make the decision to postpone this trip, due to thunderstorms forecast!

We also harvested more potatoes, a few tomatoes, lots of yard long and borlotti beans 🥔🍅
Gave all the plants and the humans a good watering!

Would like to say a massive thank to Asif for all of his help over the last couple of months, you will be missed sir! We wish you all the best for the future. Come say Hi next time you are in Leeds ☺️🫡

We're delighted to share that green hub Aysgarth Walk in Richmond Hill, Leeds, has been recognised with a DEFRA Bees' Needs Champion Award 🏆🐝

Over the past two years local residents, supported by and Incredible Edible- Richmond Hill, have worked together to transform an underused area of public land into a thriving community green space. The project has helped create valuable habitat and food sources for bees, butterflies and other pollinating insects, while also providing opportunities for local people to connect with nature - a green community hub at its finest!

We also manually pollinated our tomatillos to give them a helping hand and gave everything a good drinky drink 😄

Thank you to everyone who has helped us water over the last couple of weeks, while we weren't able to do our regular sessions! 🥰🤩💞

We were back on Thursday and had a wonderful session. 😎

We tried tomatillos, picked and ate fresh blackberries and collected poppy seeds. 🤤

We divided up one bed and planted- pak choi, rainbow chard, parsley, spinach, rocket, red lettuce, spring onions, nasturtium and carrots. 🥬🥕

We also added dwarf beans to another bed.
Had a tidy up, gave everything a good watering and placed ollas in a couple of our planters.

We harvested borlotti and yard long beans, along with sweet peas flowers and Greek basil. 🫛

Unfortunately we didn't have any ice lollies, so we had a shower with the hose instead 😅😎

Thank you to everyone who has been involved and helped us transform Aysgarth over the last couple of years!
