A dirty start to last week for Josh! 😂

Starting with the finished result, swipe through to see the before, during and after… including the mess along the way!

The original lath and plaster ceiling had definitely seen better days, with old water damage and a few questionable repairs along the way. So out with the old and in with the new! Josh got stuck into the full rip-out, before reboarding and freshly plastering the ceiling, giving it a much-needed new lease of life 🙌

The customer also wanted to keep the original meat hooks as a feature, so they’ve stayed put!

Can safely say these aren’t Josh’s favourite jobs, but someone’s got to do them! 😂 And judging by the state of him in that selfie, you can probably see why 🤣

Not every plastering job has to be a full room. Small repairs, patches, damaged areas and those annoying little jobs you’ve been putting off are all welcome too 😂 So if you’ve got a smaller job and you’re wondering whether it’s ‘worth asking’, just ask!

With the walls opened up and steel lintels in place, the kitchen and dining area have been transformed into one lovely open space!

Josh has been busy getting the plastering finished off, bringing it all together 🙌

Safe to say that’s made a bit of a difference! 😮‍💨

The diary is filling up nicely, with bookings currently taking us through to mid-November, so if you’re thinking about getting some work done, it’s worth getting in touch sooner rather than later! 🗓️

Fresh plaster needs to be fully dry before you start decorating, you’re looking for an even pale colour with no darker patches left.
Drying times can vary depending on the room, temperature and ventilation, so don’t rush it 🎨

Little sunroom glow up 👀

Walls studded out, fresh plasterboard fitted and then skimmed to a smooth finish 👌🏼

Plenty of fiddly bits in this one to keep Josh busy 😂 but all finished off and ready for the next stage.

What a difference 👏🏼

Another job wrapped up and another happy customer! 🙌🏼

From the before shots right through to the finished result, this one had a proper transformation and we’re really pleased with how it all came together.

Nothing better than standing back at the end of a job and seeing the difference… especially when the customer is just as happy with it too! 👍🏼👌🏼

A little prep goes a long way 👀

Before Josh arrives to plaster, there are a few simple things that can make the job run smoother and help protect your home properly.

From clearing as much of the room as possible to letting us know about any damp, leaks or loose plaster when Josh comes to quote, or if anything changes before the work starts, these little things can make a big difference.

And don’t worry, pets are always welcome for cuddles, we just ask that they’re kept away from the work area while Josh is plastering 🐾😂

Can you plaster over Artex?

In many cases, yes, but it depends on the condition of the existing surface.

Josh will always check it properly first and advise whether it can be prepared and skimmed over, or whether the better option would be to overboard before plastering.

Some older Artex may contain asbestos, so if you’re unsure, it’s always safest to get it checked before disturbing it.

If you’re unsure what would be best for your ceiling or wall, send us a photo and we can have a look before arranging a quote.

A little repair job from this week 👷‍♂️

Josh originally completed the render on this outdoor area, but some drilling from the other side of the wall unfortunately caused a section of the render to blow.

Josh headed back to remove the damaged section, prep the area and patch everything back up again, leaving it all sorted and looking as it should 👌

Final inspection carried out by the customer’s very thorough site supervisor 🐶🔎

Safe to say, we passed. 😂
