I've been lucky enough to have a weekend stay in the Gloucestershire countryside this weekend. The venue was built by myself 5 years ago, and was designed to be a modern take on rustic charm, disappearing into the trees. When it was fresh it blended in, but now it looks like it's been there for decades. The cladding has weathered beautifully, with the original wood colour still present right up under the soffits and the lovely grey weathered textures lower down. You've got to love it. One day I'll make myself a retreat like this, fingers crossed I'll have such a perfect location to build it in!

The final piece of the puzzle at Bukhoor Lounge... The company logo burnt onto the offcuts from the scaffold plank floor. Opening today at 12. Good luck guys!

It's not that often that you get to install solid oak frames, skirting boards and architraves, with good quality oak doors. You get what you pay for! Love the way every piece of timber has a slightly different tone.

A timber dome I made a couple of years ago, it was a trial run for a bigger dome which is still under construction. This one was used as a posh chicken run, the big one will have bunk beds, a log burner and a kitchenette...! Can't wait to get it finished!

One of my first solo projects, back in 2007-2008. It's just gone up for sale and these are the sales pics. Nothing's changed inside and it looks to have aged well!! The first place I worked on that had zoned heating (different room sets have their own thermostat, so the living room is warmer in the day, whilst bedrooms can be cooler etc). If only I had the money, I'd buy it in a heartbeat....

Nice use of kitchen worktop leftovers to make a matching bookshelf for cookbooks. Installing it in the next few days so it'll be interesting to see how it looks on the wall!
