Your safety helmet is one of the most important pieces of PPE you use — but it won't protect you forever.

Damage isn't always obvious, and everyday wear can affect the condition of your head protection.

👀 Take a few minutes to inspect your helmet.

Look for:

✔️ Signs of significant impact
✔️ Cracks or visible damage
✔️ A worn harness or suspension
✔️ Poor or incorrect fit
✔️ The manufacturer's recommended service life

If head protection is damaged, it should be replaced, and manufacturer guidance should always be followed.

🧤 When do you know it's time for a new pair of work gloves?

Gloves take a lot of abuse on the job, but you don't necessarily want to wait until they're completely worn out before replacing them.

Keep an eye out for:

✅ Worn or damaged grip
If the coating is becoming smooth or damaged, performance can suffer.

✅ Holes, tears or splits
Visible damage can affect the protection your gloves provide.

✅ Loss of fit
If they're stretched, loose or no longer fit properly, it's time to replace them.

Your gloves are there to protect your hands and help you work effectively.
