Another repointing project we’ve just completed in Rainford

The existing mortar had deteriorated over time, allowing moisture to pe*****te the stonework and causing sections of the stone to blow.

To restore the wall and protect it for the future, the stonework was raked out using dust control and in areas it was necessary carefully chipped out, and fully repointed using traditional lime mortar. This not only improves the appearance of the wall but also allows the stone to breathe naturally while providing long-lasting protection against the elements.

Here are some pictures from a recent property we’ve been working on in St Helens 📍

This property had their full back elevation raked out & repointed alongside the bottom half of its gable and front.
We raked out using dust control & repointed in NHL 3.5 Lime.

We also inserted a Helifix bar above the back door where there was a step crack to prevent any further movement.

We have been busy over in Newton-le-Willows for the last week or so.

We successfully completed the raking out and re-pointing of four front elevations, one full property, and one back elevation, all done using dust extraction and re-pointed. We will be returning later this year to carry out further pointing work.

We have recently completed a project in the Leigh area.

The scaffolding has been removed, and the property is now finished. Our team raked out the entire house using our dust control vacuum system and re-pointed it using a lime-based mortar. At the customer's request, we also applied a water seal to provide extra protection against harsh weather.

Additionally, both chimney stacks were dropped to just above the roof line and capped to address issues with weeds and vegetation in the joints.

We have recently completed a job in Leigh and the scaffolding has now been removed.

The front elevation required attention as the mortar had begun to deteriorate. We raked out the joints using our dust extraction system and re-pointed the area using lime mortar. Additionally, we re-pointed two chimney stacks on the property.

We are starting a big project at Rightpoint next week in Monton. The scaffolding is being erected for a full rake-out and re-point.

Our first job will be the chimney stacks to allow the roofing work to be completed. Once finished, we will begin work on the main building. Also the house will undergo a full chemical clean to remove years of built-up grime and carbon.

We have recently completed a project in Monton where we were brought in to rectify issues caused by a previous contractor.

The previous company failed to use dust control when raking out the old mortar and incorrectly used cement instead of lime. This resulted in significant damage to the property’s appearance and structural integrity.

Thankfully, our team was able to step in and properly restore the brickwork using the correct materials and techniques. The property has now been fully restored to its proper condition.
