RHS Chelsea Flower show fever is ramping up in the B & W office, to get us more excited about attending this year, we are looking back at some of the gardens we created for past shows...
1.The Florence Nightingale Garden at RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2021 for designer and sponsor . The garden has been relocated to St Thomas’ Hospital on London’s South Bank, opposite the Houses of Parliament.

2. The Warner Distillery Garden, RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2019 designed by , is inspired by the natural springs at Falls Farm in Northamptonshire - home to Warner's Gin – and references the local landscape and agricultural heritage, as well as the Farm’s gin distillery.

3. & 4. Our 5* award winning stands at RHs Chelsea Flower show 2025 and 2024, we built and designed to showcase spectacular pieces.

5. This was the first of three gardens for Brewin Dolphin at RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2014. Designed by and had twin themes of nurturing and future opportunities at its heart, and combined lush, tranquil planting and bold sculptural features along with some unusually striking materials. The garden was awarded a Silver Gilt medal.

6. we constructed Linklaters Garden for Maggie's designed by for RHS Chelsea 2017, winning a Gold Medal. Visitors could only access the garden through an elevated walkway, whilst the centre of the landscape remained a calm haven surrounded by tall hedges.

🌸 Celebrating the women who nurture, inspire, and help us grow — just like a beautiful garden.

This Mother’s Day, we’re honouring the quiet moments shared outdoors: a cup of tea among the blooms, a walk through a favourite border, the joy of planting something new together. Gardens have a way of holding memories, and so many of them begin with Mum.

Here’s to the mothers, grandmothers, and mother figures who bring beauty, strength, and care into our lives — today and every day.

The Aftercare team had a great day last week with , learning from Stuart Tickner and the ever enthusiastic Richard Mckenna learning about their Plant Healthy initiative, safeguarding our countryside from destructive pests and diseases. With a nursery tour taking in their biosecurity Control Point (CP) - External Temporary Storage Facility (ETSF).
A HMRC-authorized & Defra-approved inland extension of a Border Control Post (BCP), allowing secure plant inspections away from entry ports.

Our team carefully installed a plant trailing system on a garden room wall, meticulously avoiding lighting fixtures, over time this will become a stunning living wall feature once the plants start to grow along the wires

Seasonal Essentials: Formative Winter Spur Pruning of Fruit Trees
✂️ Timing: Late December to mid-March
🌿 Thin first: Remove crossing stems and congestion
🍂 The 3 Ds: Dead, Diseased, Dying
🌱 Create spurs: Cut lateral shoots back to 3–5 buds
🌳 Train well: Reduce leaders by one to two thirds
🧼 Hygiene matters: Clean tools and disinfect between plants
🎯 Be precise: Sharp, angled cuts just above an outward-facing bud
🍎 Prune with purpose now, and your trees will thank you

Flower Spotlight of the Week: Snow drops 🌼 ❄️
Spotting drifts of delicate snowdrops is one of those quiet signs that spring is on its way — a simple joy in a dismal, wet February.
These clever little flowers don’t wait on pollinators. They self-divide and spread naturally, creating soft blankets of white long before the rest of the garden wakes up.
We love designing gardens that surprise you through every season — and snowdrops are one of our favourite early moments.
Snowdrop bulbs: small, delicate, and quietly unstoppable 🌱
Galanthus | Peak bloom: January–March
