Earlier this month, Fieldwire by Hilti joined us on site to hear first-hand how we’ve been using their software platform across our projects over the past two years.

As part of the visit, members of our team took part in on-site interviews, sharing their experiences of using Fieldwire and how the platform supports our teams in the day-to-day delivery of structural steelwork projects.

They also captured some behind-the-scenes footage of our team and what goes into delivering our projects on site.

Fieldwire will be putting together a blog and video featuring F H Dale, which we’re looking forward to sharing soon.

We’re delighted to congratulate Justin Price on receiving His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant’s Certificate of Meritorious Service while attending annual camp with the Hereford & Worcester Army Cadet Force.

The certificate is a formal recognition awarded for exceptional and long-standing service by reservists, adult cadet volunteers and civilian support staff.

It’s always great to recognise the achievements of our team, not only for the contribution they make here at F H Dale, but also for the time, commitment and dedication they give to their communities outside of work.

Welder / Fabricator – Leominster, Herefordshire

About the Company:

We regularly partner with leading Main Contractors delivering significant steel frames across a wide range of sectors.

The Role:
Due to continued growth and investment in our state-of-the-art fabrication facility, we are looking to recruit Welders and Fabricators to join our Production team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a leading structural steel fabricator involved in projects across the UK.
You will work within our fabrication workshop, carrying out welding and fabrication activities in line with production schedules while maintaining high standards of quality, productivity and safety. Full training will be provided where required to ensure work is undertaken within a productive, quality-driven and safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities:
• Carry out welding and fabrication activities in line with production schedules
• Read and work from fabrication drawings and specifications
• Produce structural steelwork to the required quality standards
• Ensure work is completed safely and in accordance with company procedures
• Maintain high levels of productivity while achieving required quality standards
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to meet production and project deadlines
• Use workshop equipment and machinery safely and correctly
• Report quality, production or safety issues through the appropriate channels
• Maintain a clean and organised working environment

Requirements:
• Experience within structural steelwork, welding or fabrication preferred
• Relevant welding and fabrication skills
• Ability to read fabrication drawings would be advantageous
• Strong work ethic and commitment to quality and safety
• Reliable, organised and able to work effectively as part of a team
• Willingness to learn and develop – full training will be provided where required

Working Hours:
• Rotating Morning/Afternoon shifts: 06:00–14:00 and 14:00–22:00 on a weekly rotation
• Full-time position with guaranteed contracted hours

After an incredible 45 years with Frank H Dale Ltd, today we celebrate the retirement of Anthea Walker.

Over four and a half decades, Anthea has been a constant presence within the business, working across virtually every department in our structural steel fabrication office. Her knowledge, dedication, adaptability and unwavering commitment have made her an invaluable member of the FHD team and someone many colleagues have relied upon throughout their careers.

Very few people can say they have helped shape a company over 45 years, but Anthea has done exactly that. Her experience, professionalism and willingness to support others have left a lasting impact on both the business and the people within it.

Tekla Detailer – Leominster, Herefordshire

The Role:
The drawing office is at the heart of everything we do and we are looking for an experienced Tekla detailer to join our award-winning Herefordshire based team.
You will be responsible for all aspects of the CAD modelling process, including the production of drawings and data for our production facility and site teams.

Key Responsibilities:
• Liaise with other members of the FHD team to produce accurate and fully coordinated 3d models
• Production of general arrangement drawings and site er****on drawings
• The swift and efficient production of fabrication drawings and details
• Creation of data exchange packages using Trimble Connect, Strumis and Fieldwire
• Working alongside our team of design and project engineers to ensure that deadlines and milestones are met
• Support effective communication between contracts, production and site teams
• Assist with resolving site issues and coordinating corrective actions where required
• Maintain strong working relationships internally and externally to support successful project delivery

Requirements:
• Familiarity with using Tekla structures (minimum 3 years)
• Experience within construction or, more specifically, the structural steelwork industry
• Strong communication and coordination skills
• Organised, with strong attention to detail
• A problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
• Strong IT and administrative skills
• Ability to work collaboratively across internal and external teams

Congratulations to Robin on receiving his 15 Year Service Award!
Some people are truly made for the steelwork industry — and Robin is certainly one of them.

Robin began his career as a Template Maker back in the late 1970s and has dedicated his entire working life to the steelwork industry, primarily within the Drawing Office environment.

Anyone who has worked with Robin will know how conscientious, reliable, and dedicated he is. His attention to detail and commitment to delivering quality work have always been second to none.

Away from work, Robin previously spent much of his time road cycling and mountain biking, although these days that has slowed somewhat. When the weather is on his side, you’ll most likely find him out on his motorbike instead. He’s also a keen fan of clay pigeon shooting and cars. For many of us who have known him over the years, with his distinctive moustache, he’ll forever be recognised as the handsome “Nigel Mansell look-alike”!

Thank you, Robin, for your hard work, loyalty, and contribution over the past 15 years. Your dedication is greatly appreciated by everyone who has had the pleasure of working alongside you.
